Peter Lew
Peter Lew (born 25 February 1970), is an Australian businessman from Melbourne, and the son of Solomon Lew, a billionaire who provided his children with access to his fortune via a tax-effective trust structures. He is the Chairman of P Lew Investment Group, owner of the BrandBank Group of Companies and through accessing his father's fortune has extensive interests in retail, financial services and property investments. BrandBank owns the Thurley, Seed Heritage and Seed Femme speciality fashion brands located in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong, and is the local licence holder for French Connection and Nine West in Australia and New Zealand. Peter Lew has a Bachelor of Business degree in Banking and Finance from Monash University (Caulfield, Victoria, Caulfield), after attending Mount Scopus Memorial College, a large Jewish school in Melbourne. Supreme Court Of Victoria
The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in the Australian state of Victoria. Founded in 1852, it is a superior court of common law and equity, with unlimited and inherent jurisdiction within the state. The Supreme Court comprises two divisions: the Trial Division, which oversees its original jurisdiction, and the Court of Appeal, which deals with its appellate jurisdiction, and is frequently referred to as a court in its own right. Although the Supreme Court is theoretically vested with unlimited jurisdiction, it generally only hears, at trial, criminal cases in instances of murder, manslaughter or treason, and civil cases where the statement of claim is in excess of the Magistrates' Court limit of $100,000. Australian Jews, or Jewish Australians, ( he, יהודים אוסטרלים, translit=yehudim ostralim) are Jews who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia. In the 2016 census, there were 21,175 Australians who identified as Jewish by ancestry, a decrease from 25,716 in the 2011 census, and 91,016 Australians who identified as adherents of Judaism, which is a 6% decrease on 97,355 adherents of Judaism in the 2011 census. The actual number is almost certainly higher, because an answer to the religion question on the census was optional and because Holocaust survivors, Haredi Jews or many non-practising Jews are believed to prefer not to disclose religion in the census. Allan Fels
Allan Herbert Miller Fels (born 7 February 1942) is an Australian economist, lawyer and public servant. He was most widely known in his role as chairman of the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) from its inception in 1995 until 30 June 2003. Upon his retirement from the ACCC, he became foundation dean of the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) until January 2013. He was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in June 2001. His book, ''Tough Customer: Chasing a better deal for battlers'', was published in September 2019 by Melbourne University Press. Fels was awarded a Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) by the University of Melbourne in February 2022. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is the chief competition regulator of the Government of Australia, located within the Department of the Treasury.
