Peter Hayes (born Melbourne, 28 September 1957) is a Sydney based, British trained, Australian television, film and theatre actor and director. He is perhaps best known for the role of Dr. Steven Ryan in the long running Australian soap opera, '' Prisoner''. Acting career Hayes started acting while young with the Port Moresby Players in 1968 in a production of ''1066''. Wanting to become a professional actor he went on to train from 1982 to 1984 at the Webber Douglas Academy in London, United Kingdom. Hayes also holds a Bachelor Arts (Honours) from the University of Melbourne. Peter Hayes (cricketer)
Peter James Hayes (born 20 May 1954) is a former English cricketer. Hayes was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born in Crowborough, Sussex. Hayes made his first-class debut for Cambridge University against Gloucestershire in 1974. He made 26 further first-class appearances for the university, the last of which came against Oxford University in 1977. In his 27 first-class appearance for the university, he scored 343 runs at an average of 10.93, with a high score of 56 not out. This score, his only first-class fifty, came against Glamorgan in 1977. With the ball, he took 51 wickets at a bowling average of 35.92, with best figures of 5/48. These figures, his only five wicket haul, came against Nottinghamshire in 1975. He made his List A debut for Cambridge University against Essex in the 1974 Benson & Hedges Cup. Colin Hayes
Colin Sidney Hayes (16 February 1924 – 21 May 1999) was an Australian champion trainer of thoroughbred racehorses based in Adelaide, South Australia. During his career he trained 5,333 winners including 524 individual Group or Listed winners. He won 28 Adelaide and 13 Melbourne Trainers' Premierships. The C S Hayes Stakes is named in his honour and run annually at Flemington Racecourse. Hayes was elevated to Legend status in the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2018, a feat only achieved by two other horse trainers, TJ Smith and Bart Cummings. Early days Hayes was born in Semaphore, South Australia on 16 February 1924. His father died when he was 10 years old. Peter Richard Hayes (born 11 April 1963) is a British diplomat. He was formerly the Commissioner of the British Indian Ocean Territory and the British Antarctic Territory. Early life He was educated at the University of Surrey (BSc, Physics) and King's College London (PhD, 1989). Career Originally trained as a physicist, in 1990 Hayes joined the Civil Service in the National Physical Laboratory, later working in the Department of Trade and Industry, the Cabinet Office, the Office of Science and Technology, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He worked for the British Embassy to the United States as a Counsellor for 2001–2005. In 2005 Hayes was appointed Principal Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary, serving under Jack Straw, Margaret Beckett and David Miliband until 2007. Peter F. Hayes is professor emeritus of history at the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, Northwestern University, and chair of the Academic Committee of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Specializing in the Holocaust, genocide and the history of modern Germany, Hayes is the author or editor of 10 books, including ''Industry and Ideology: IG Farben in the Nazi Era'' (1987), a prize-winning study of the IG Farben corporation. He has been described as the leading scholar of the historiography of industry in Nazi Germany. Peter Hayes (born February 11, 1976) is an American musician and singer, best known as a member of the rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Early life Hayes grew up in Minnesota, and his first time playing music was learning the trombone and playing in symphonic band in school. When Hayes was 14 or 15 years old he got into trouble for drug use and was grounded for over a year. During that time he began figuring out how to play his mother's classical guitar out of boredom. She taught him some flamenco and finger picking songs, which was influential for Hayes, as was the music of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. One of Hayes' first electric guitars was a Peavey copy of a Hendrix-Style Fender Stratocaster. Peter Hayes (born 1946) is a contemporary sculptor now based in Bath, England, whose work is displayed in public locations including the UK, US, Canada and Belgium. Life and works Hayes was born in Birmingham, England, where, aged 12, he was selected to attend the Moseley School of Art. In 1961 he left to study at the Birmingham College of Art before travelling extensively in Africa. Over the course of several years, he worked as a ceramic artist with tribes and village potters who inspired him with the exquisite work they produced using very limited technology and tools. Moving on to India, Nepal, Japan, Korea and New Mexico, he found similar skills and adopted the techniques he learned. In 1982, Hayes came home and built a studio in a disused toll house on Cleveland Bridge, Bath. Peter Lind Hayes (born Joseph Conrad Lind Jr.; June 25, 1915 – April 21, 1998) was an American vaudeville entertainer, songwriter, and film and television actor. Early life Hayes was born in San Francisco, the son of Joseph Conrad Lind Sr., a railroad man and amateur singer, and vaudeville entertainer Grace Hayes (1895–1989). Joseph Lind Sr. died when his son was two years old. Hayes attended parochial school in Cairo, Illinois, during his early childhood before moving to the New York City suburb of New Rochelle and continuing his education there. Career Hayes made his vaudeville debut with his mother at the age of six. In 1939, his mother sold some jewelry and borrowed $8,000 to open the Grace Hayes Lodge in Los Angeles, where he began working as a nightclub performer.
