Peter Coyne (rugby League)
Peter Coyne (born 28 October 1964) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. Playing career Coyne started his career at the Brisbane Valleys club and later at the English Halifax, before joining his brother Mark Coyne at St. George Dragons in 1991. Coyne was a five-eighth, and played in the 1992 Grand Final for St. George Dragons. The Castleford Tigers are a professional rugby league club in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England, that compete in the Super League, the top-level professional rugby league club competition in the Northern Hemisphere. The club have competed in the top division for the majority of their existence, having only been relegated twice in their history. They have won the Challenge Cup four times. Their most recent major trophy was the 1986 Challenge Cup. Castleford have a rivalry with neighbours Featherstone Rovers and Wakefield Trinity. Mark Coyne (rugby League)
Mark Coyne (born 16 August 1967) is an Australian former rugby league footballer, a state and international representative player and an Insurance Executive. His football club career was with the St George Dragons and the joint-venture of the St George Illawarra Dragons - he captained both sides. He played principally at but sometimes as a in his notable representative career. He was also the brother of another first grade footballer, Peter Coyne. In an era when players also worked while playing Coyne had already spent ten years working in the Financial Industry utilizing his marketing degree before retiring from the NRL in 1999. The 1992 New South Wales Rugby League Premiership season was the eighty-fifth season of professional rugby league football in Australia. Sixteen teams competed for the J.J. Giltinan Shield during the season which culminated in a grand final for the Winfield Cup between the Brisbane Broncos, making their grand final debut, and the St. George Dragons.
