Peruvian Academy Of Language
The Peruvian Academy of Language ( es, Academia Peruana de la Lengua) is an association of academics and experts on the use of the Spanish language in Peru. It was founded in Lima on May 5, 1887. Its first elected president was Francisco García Calderón. The second president was Ricardo Palma. It is a member of the Association of Spanish Language Academies. Current members * Sr. D. Jorge Puccinelli
Jorge is a Spanish and Portuguese given name. It is derived from the Greek name Γεώργιος (''Georgios'') via Latin ''Georgius''; the former is derived from (''georgos''), meaning "farmer" or "earth-worker". Peruvian Culture
Peruvian culture is the gradual blending of Amerindian cultures with European and African ethnic groups. The ethnic diversity and rugged geography of Peru allowed diverse traditions and customs to co-exist. Peruvian culture has been deeply influenced by Native culture, Spanish culture, and African culture. Other minor influences on their culture are Chinese, Japanese, and European. Literature Peruvian literature has its roots in the oral traditions of 1609. After independence, the monarchy wrote a book that spoke to all of the people. Costumbrism and Romanticism became the most common literary genres, as exemplified in the works of Priests. Peruvian Literature
The term Peruvian literature not only refers to literature produced in the independent Republic of Peru, but also to literature produced in the Viceroyalty of Peru during the country's colonial period, and to oral artistic forms created by diverse ethnic groups that existed in the area during the prehispanic period, such as the Quechua, the Aymara and the Chanka South American native groups. Pre-Hispanic oral tradition The artistic production of the pre-Hispanic period, especially art produced under the Incan Empire, is largely unknown. Literature produced in the central- Andean region of modern-day Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia and Chile, is thought to have been transmitted orally alone, though the quipu of the Inka and earlier Andean civilizations increasingly casts this into doubt. Fernando de Szyszlo Valdelomar (5 July 1925 – 9 October 2017) was a Peruvian painter, sculptor, printmaker, and teacher who was a key figure in advancing abstract art in Latin America since the mid-1950s, and one of the leading plastic artists in Peru. Life Szyszlo was born in Lima, Peru; his mother was Peruvian of Spanish-Indian descent, and his father was a geographer from Poland. In 1943, Szyszlo entered the architecture school of the National University of Engineering, but abandoned plans to follow that profession and enrolled in the School of Plastic Arts of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. After his graduation in 1948, he traveled to Europe where he studied the works of the masters, particularly Rembrandt, Titian and Tintoretto, and absorbed the varied influences of Cubism, Surrealism, Informalism, and abstraction. Fernando de Trazegnies Granda, 5th Marquis de Torrebermeja and 7th Count of Las Lagunas (Lima, 3 September 1935) is a Peruvian legal scholar, diplomat, historian, writer and professor. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru between 1998 and 2000. Biography Born in Lima in 1935, de Trazegnies is the eldest son of Rosa Granda y Vásquez de Velasco, 4th Marquise of Torrebermeja, and Ferdinand de Trazegnies. While his mother was a member of the old Spanish nobility established in Peru, his father was a Belgian diplomat and genealogist. He was educated at the Jesuit Inmaculada School and the School of Law of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, where he obtained his BA in 1960.
