Perth Soccer Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in West Perth, Western Australia. The club was founded in 1987 as the result of a merger between three local sides, though its pre-merger history is regarded to be that of Perth Azzurri after taking full control of the club in 2002. Perth currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia, with matches played at Dorrien Gardens. History The club was formed in 1987 as a result of a merger of Perth Azzurri (formed 1948), East Fremantle Tricolore (formed 1953) and Balcatta Etna (formed 1977). After numerous meetings and discussions the new club known as, named Perth Italia Soccer Club, was formed. Dorrien Gardens
Dorrien Gardens is a sports ground in West Perth, Western Australia primarily used for soccer. It is the home ground of Perth SC. History In 1951, the City of Perth allocated the ground to Azzurri ahead of their first season in the first tier of Western Australian soccer. The Dorrien Gardens Reserve was further developed in the 1970s when the local council resumed land from a series of properties on Cowle Street. In 1987, Perth Italia – a club formed from the merger of Azzurri, East Fremantle Tricolore and Balcatta Etna – chose Dorrien Gardens as their home ground. Adrian Madaschi
Adrian Anthony Madaschi (born 11 July 1982) is an Australian footballer who last played for Perth SC. He is a left-footed defender whose position is centre-back and can also play full-back. Club career Madaschi was born in Perth, Western Australia. He left Perth Italia to join Italian Serie A side Atalanta's youth team at the age of 15 in 1998. Madaschi was part of the Atalanta youth side that won back to back Primavera Coppa Italia (Italian Youth Cups) in 1999–00 and 2000–01, along with losing the Italian Scudetto (Youth Championship final) to Inter in 2000–01. Christopher John Coyne (born 20 December 1978) is an Australian former soccer player and coach who is currently head of Perth Glory Youth NPL in National Premier Leagues Western Australia (NPLWA). In a 17-year career as a player, Coyne appeared for clubs in Australia, England and China, most significantly for Luton Town for whom he appeared 221 times between 2001 and 2008. Gareth Naven
Gareth Naven (born 3 March 1969) is an Australian football coach and former player. He is currently the development officer at Football West and coach of Bayswater City SC in the NPL. Playing career Naven was born in 1969 in the English town of Wigan before his family moved to Perth, Australia. He was a junior with Gosnells but made his initial impact with Bayswater Inter in 1985. In the same year, he and his twin brother Craig were selected in the Australia Under-16 national team that reached the quarter-finals of the World Under-16 championship in China. Robert Dunn (born 6 July 1960) is a Scottish-born Australian former soccer player. Dunn played as a defender in a career that spanned 15 years.
