The rivalry between Persepolis and Sepahan is a Association football, footballing rivalry played between Iranian clubs Persepolis F.C., Persepolis and Sepahan F.C., Sepahan. History 2006 Hazfi Cup Final This rivalry started in 2006 when Sepahan and Persepolis contested the Hafzi Cup championship, Iranian football's second-most prestigious competition. After both teams battled to a 1–1 tie in the first leg in Tehran, the two sides returned to Esfahan's Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium, Nagshe Jahan Stadium for the pivotal second leg, when a champion would be crowned. Sheys Rezaei Khonakdar ( fa, شيث رضایی خنکدار, born 2 April 1984 in Sari, Iran) is an Iranian footballer and singer. Club career Sheys is originally from Hamid Abad (one of Sari's suburbs). He has played most of his career for Persepolis and started to be known in 2005–06 season and became more famous after problems in 2007–08 season. He has featured in U17, U23 and the A team of Iran. Sepehr Heydari ( fa, سپهر حیدری, born 19 June 1980 in Esfahan, Iran) is a retired Iranian football defender. He has a bachelor of Mechanical engineering from Najaf Abad Azad University. Club career He started to show his talent in Zob Ahan and finally moved to Persepolis. Saeid Mozaffarizadeh ( Persian: سعید مظفری زاده, born October 15, 1974) is an Iranian football referee who reffed in Iran Pro League and has been on the international list from 2007 to 2014. The 2006/07 season was Mozaffarizadeh's first year refereeing in Iran's top division and it was one of the greatest years a rookie referee could have.
