The Perrys
The Perrys are a professional Southern gospel quartet based in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The group formed on December 25, 1970 with Randy Perry and his sisters, Debbie and Libbi, in Georgia. In the mid-1980s, the group signed with former pianist for the Happy Goodman Family, Eddie Crook on his Morning Star Records label. Libbi met and married Tracy Stuffle, who would become the groups bass singer. Debbie left the group to rear her family and the Perrys were joined by soprano singer Denise Helton. During this time, the Perrys experienced enormous growth in their popularity with such songs as "Get Involved", "We Shall Reign", "I Remember The Day", "The Mountain", "He Knows How", "Royal Descendant", "Grace", "The Rock of Ages", and "Look What I'm Trading for a Mansion". In the 1994, after the release of the very popular "Grace" album, Randy Perry left the road to concentrate more on evangelistic work and Denise Helton would also leave the group to pursue other ventures. Perry's Ice Cream is an ice cream manufacturer located in Akron, New York. Perry's sells and distributes primarily to New York, Western Pennsylvania, New England, and Northeast Ohio. History Perry's Ice Cream was founded in 1918 by H. Morton Perry as Perry's Dairy, a dairy delivery business. The business would later supply ice cream to Akron High School starting in 1932. In 1940 H. Morton Perry and his son, Marlo, were able to purchase a Buffalo ice cream maker and began to expand their distribution into Akron. Thomas C. Perry, Marlo's son, became CEO and president of the company in 1982, and chairman of the board in 1988, after his father died. In 1997 the company released the flavor "Zero Visibility" to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Blizzard of 1977. As of 2000, the company's CEO and President is Robert Denning, Thomas C. History The business was established by Harold Perry, in 1908, selling motor accessories. Harold Perry formerly worked for the United Kingdom distributor for Ford. Harold Perry was appointed dealer for Ford, for the City of London, in 1912. In 1911, Harold's brother, Sir Percival Perry, had persuaded Henry Ford to launch the Ford Motor Company in the United Kingdom. Perry's Nut House is a tourist stop and store on Route One in Belfast, Maine. Opened in 1927, Perry's Nut House is a classic example of an American roadside attraction.
