Perry Salles
Perilúcio José de Almeida (March 6, 1939 – June 17, 2009), better known by his stage name Perry Salles, was a Brazilian film director and actor. Biography Salles was born in Rio de Janeiro, on March 6, 1939, and was the adoptive son of actress Yara Salles. He began his acting career in 1961, portraying the character Fernando in the comedy film ''O Dono da Bola''. His breakthrough was in the 1973 '' pornochanchada'' classic '' A Super Fêmea'', where he met his future wife, Vera Fischer. Salles later acquired higher prominence after starring in the 1987 '' telenovela'' '' Mandala'' as Laio. Around the same time he directed the films ''Intimidade'' (1975) and ''Dôra Doralina'' (1982), the latter one being based on Rachel de Queiroz's eponymous book. Metastasis is a pathogenic agent's spread from an initial or primary site to a different or secondary site within the host's body; the term is typically used when referring to metastasis by a cancerous tumor. Lung cancer, also known as lung carcinoma (since about 98–99% of all lung cancers are carcinomas), is a malignant lung tumor characterized by uncontrolled cell growth in tissue (biology), tissues of the lung. Lung carcinomas derive from transformed, malignant cells that originate as epithelial cells, or from tissues composed of epithelial cells. Stent
In medicine, a stent is a metal or plastic tube inserted into the lumen of an anatomic vessel or duct to keep the passageway open, and stenting is the placement of a stent. A wide variety of stents are used for different purposes, from expandable coronary, vascular and biliary stents, to simple plastic stents that allow urine to flow between kidney and bladder. "Stent" is also used as a verb to describe the placement of such a device, particularly when a disease such as atherosclerosis has pathologically narrowed a structure such as an artery. Myocardial Infarction
A myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow decreases or stops to the coronary artery of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw. Often it occurs in the center or left side of the chest and lasts for more than a few minutes. The discomfort may occasionally feel like heartburn. Other symptoms may include shortness of breath, nausea, feeling faint, a cold sweat or feeling tired. About 30% of people have atypical symptoms. Mandrake (TV Series)
''Mandrake'' is an original series created for the Brazilian branch of the HBO Latin America. The series was produced by HBO's local partner, Conspiração Filmes, with a budget of US$6.5 million. It first aired on October 30, 2005, being broadcast on Sundays at 11 O'clock pm (local Brazilian time: UTC -3). The first ever HBO original series produced in Brazil, Mandrake was adapted from the character created by Brazilian novelist, Rubem Fonseca. Fonseca is known for his analysis of Rio de Janeiro's diverse society in his book ''A Grande Arte'' (The Great Art). Fonseca was actively involved in the adaptation of his work for TV, and the general direction of the project was entrusted to his own son, José Henrique Fonseca. Cinderela Baiana
''Cinderela Baiana'' (Portuguese for ''Bahian Cinderella'') is a 1998 Brazilian semi-fictionalized biographical romantic comedy film directed by Conrado Sanchez (who also wrote the screenplay, even though he was uncredited for it) and produced by Antônio Polo Galante (his last credited work prior to his retirement in the same year).
