Perry Community School District
The Perry Community School District is a rural public school district headquartered in Perry, Iowa. The district is mostly in northern Dallas County, with a smaller area in Boone County, and a small portion of Greene County. The district serves Perry and the surrounding rural areas, including the towns of Dawson and Bouton. Clark Wicks has been superintendent since 2017, after serving as the part-time superintendent at Orient-Macksburg Community School District. He formerly served as the principal at Perry Elementary from 1989 to 2012. Perry is a city in Dallas County, Iowa, United States, along the North Raccoon River. The population was 7,836 at the time of the 2020 Census. It is part of the Des Moines–West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area. Orient-Macksburg Community School District
Orient-Macksburg Community School District (O-M) is a public school district headquartered in Orient, Iowa. The district, which serves Orient and Macksburg, occupies portions of Adair, Madison, Adams, and Union counties in the southwest of the state. It is the result of the consolidation of schools in the communities of Orient and Macksburg, which occurred in fall 1960. All grades pre-kindergarten through 12th are housed in one facility in Orient; the elementary portion was built in 1979. Sam Brinton
Samuel Otis Brinton is an American nuclear engineer and LGBTQ activist. They served as the deputy assistant secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy from June to mid-December 2022. Brinton left the position after being charged with luggage theft twice. Brinton was the first openly genderfluid individual in federal government leadership, and uses singular they pronouns. The Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) is the regulating body for male Iowa high school interscholastic athletics and is a full member of the National Federation of State High School Associations.
