Perlerfiup Kangerlua
Perlerfiup Kangerlua (old spelling: ''Perdlerfiup Kangerdlua'') is a fjord in Avannaata municipality in northwestern Greenland. It is a tributary fjord of the larger Uummannaq Fjord system. Geography The fjord head at approximately is formed by the front of the Perlerfiup Sermia glacier flowing from the Greenland ice sheet ( kl, Sermersuaq). At about one third of its length, the fjord changes direction from westward to northwestward, finally turning sharply to the southwest before confluence with the northeastern part of Uummannaq Fjord at approximately , due west of Ukkusissat. The fjord is bounded from the south by the Ukkusissat Peninsula across its entire length. To the north, it is bound by the mainland of Greenland, the highlands of Akularusersuaq and Akuliarusikassak, and the mountains of Perlerfiup Nunaa. Uummannaq
Uummannaq is a town in the Avannaata municipality, in central-western Greenland. With 1,407 inhabitants in 2020, it is the eighth-largest town in Greenland, and is home to the country's most northerly ferry terminal. Founded in 1763 as Omenak, the town is a hunting and fishing base, with a canning factory and a marble quarry. Ukkusissat Heliport
Ukkusissat Heliport is a heliport in Ukkusissat, a village in the Uummannaq Fjord system in the Avannaata municipality in northwestern Greenland. The heliport is considered a ''helistop'', and is served by Air Greenland as part of a government contract. There are no facilities at the helistop; check-in is administered in the Pilersuisoq communal store, the central point of the settlement. On the way from Uummannaq Heliport, Air Greenland helicopters fly alongside the southern and western wall of Appat Island, to then pass above the narrow Appat Ikerat strait between Appat and the smaller Salleq Island, a high, standalone flooded mountain. Airlines and destinations Air Greenland operates government contract flights to villages in the Uummannaq Fjord area. Maamorilik (old spelling: ''Mârmorilik'' or ''Maarmorilik'', also ''Black Angel Mine'') is a mining site in the Avannaata municipality in northwestern Greenland. Holding resources of zinc, iron, lead, and silver, the mine is long, with its entry level situated above the sea level.
