''Peripsocus milleri'' is a species of Psocoptera from the Peripsocidae family that can be found in Great Britain and Ireland. They can also be found on Azores and Canary Islands, Belgium, Croatia, France, Italy, and Spain. The species are brown coloured. Robert John Tillyard
Robert "Robin" John Tillyard FRS (31 January 1881 – 13 January 1937) was an English–Australian entomologist and geologist. Early life and education Tillyard was the son of J. J. Tillyard and his wife Mary Ann Frances, née Wilson and was born at Norwich, Norfolk. He was educated at Dover College and intended to enter the army but was rejected on account of having suffered from rheumatism. He won a scholarship for classics at Oxford and another for mathematics at Cambridge, and decided to go to Queens' College, Cambridge. He graduated senior optime in 1903. He went to Australia in 1904 and was appointed second mathematics and science master at Sydney Grammar School. While working as a science master Tillyard found time to publish extensively on dragonflies. After nine years with Sydney Grammar School, he resigned and undertook a research degree in biology at Sydney University and took his research BSc degree in 1914. Psocoptera
Psocoptera are a paraphyletic group of insects that are commonly known as booklice, barklice or barkflies. The name Psocoptera has been replaced with Psocodea in recent literature, with the inclusion of the former order Phthiraptera into Psocodea (as part of the suborder Troctomorpha). These insects first appeared in the Permian period, 295–248 million years ago. They are often regarded as the most primitive of the hemipteroids. Their name originates from the Greek word ψῶχος, ''psokhos'' meaning gnawed or rubbed and πτερά, ''ptera'' meaning wings. There are more than 5,500 species in 41 families in three suborders. Many of these species have only been described in recent years. They range in size from 1–10 millimetres (0.04–0.4 in) in length. Peripsocidae is a family of Psocodea (formerly Psocoptera) belonging to the suborder Psocomorpha. Members of the family are characterised by their absence of an areola postica in their wings.
