Peregrina (Venezuelan TV Series)
''Peregrina'' is a Venezuelan telenovela created by Cuban writer Delia Fiallo and produced by Venevisión in 1973. Rebeca González and José Bardina starred as the main protagonists. Plot In a Venezuelan town, a woman named Miriam suffering from leukemia dies while giving birth. Her husband Dr. Mirabal dies in an accident, and the young girl is left in the care of her maternal grandfather, Mendoza. But his wife and step-mother of the deceased Miriam want the Mendoza family fortune to remain with the twin sons, Juan Carlos and Rolando, born from Mendoza's first marriage. The evil step-mother then gives the child to a gypsy woman who is part of a circus that is passing through town. Twenty years later, the girl Gisela has become a beautiful woman, and returns to the town of her birth with the circus. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. Delia Fiallo
Delia Fiallo (4 July 1924 – 29 June 2021) was a Cuban author and screenwriter who lived in Miami, Florida. She was one of the most distinguished representatives of the contemporary romance novel, dabbling in various genres which appeared in her literary output. Due to the contributions she made to the rise of the melodrama genre in the late 1970s and mid–1980s, she is considered to be the "mother of the Latin American telenovela". By the late 1980s, her shows had over 100 millions viewers combined. Biography Fiallo studied philosophy at the University of Havana, graduating in 1948. She began writing radionovelas in Havana in 1949, making her first adaptation to a telenovela with ''Soraya'', which was released in Cuba in 1957. She left the country, together with her family, in 1966, for exile in Miami, where she would write most of her novels. José Bardina
José Bardina (March 27, 1939 – December 18, 2009) was a Spanish-Venezuelan actor who was a television leading figure. A native of Barcelona, Spain, Bardina was raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Television career He was best known for playing major roles on several soap operas, and was best loved by audiences for his natural charm and the romantic rapport he shared with his female co-stars, like Marina Baura, Lupita Ferrer and Doris Wells. He was popular in Venezuela, and also in Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and Spain, after the ''telenovelas'' produced by Radio Caracas Televisión and Venevisión reached its peak during the 1970s decade. Elio Roca
Roberto Orlando Bracone Macceialli (3 August 1943 – 19 December 2021), better known as Elio Roca was an Argentine singer. Roca was born in Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, Chaco Province, Argentina on 3 August 1943. He released his debut album, ''Bella, bionda, Carina'' in 1965. He was best known for the singles "Como deseo ser tu amor", "Te necesito tanto amor", "Yo quiero dibujarte".
