Perdana Putra
The Perdana Putra is a building in Putrajaya, Malaysia which houses the office complex of the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Located on the main hill in Putrajaya, it has become synonymous with the executive branch of the Malaysian federal government. History Construction began in 1997 and was completed in early 1999. The building was first occupied in April 1999 after all sections of the Prime Minister's Department moved from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya. Architecture The structural design is influenced by Malay, Islamic and European cultures as such Palladian and Neoclassicism. It was designed by an aQidea Architect (Ahmad Rozi Abd Wahab being the principal architect) with inspiration from the 4th, 7th and former Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad.Citrin William et al.(2009). Putrajaya
Putrajaya (), officially the Federal Territory of Putrajaya ( ms, Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya), is a planned capital city which functions as the administrative capital and the judicial capital of Malaysia. The seat of the federal government of Malaysia was moved in 1999 from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya because of overcrowding and congestion in the former, whilst the seat of the judiciary of Malaysia was later moved to Putrajaya in 2003. The Malaysian Houses of Parliament ( Malay: ''Bangunan Parlimen Malaysia''), is a building complex where the Malaysian Parliament assembles. The structure is located at the Lake Gardens in Kuala Lumpur, close to the Malaysian National Monument. Description The complex comprises two parts, a 3-story main building and a 17-story 77 metre tall tower. The main building hosts the ''Dewan Rakyat'' (House of Representatives) and the ''Dewan Negara'' (Senate) while representatives' offices are located in the tower. The complex was constructed during the period when the federal government was based in Kuala Lumpur.
