András Perczel
András Perczel (born May 10, 1959) is a Hungarian chemist, biochemist, university professor, an elected member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His major field of research is structural chemistry and biology including synthesis of biomolecules and NMR spectroscopy of peptides and proteins. He was awarded the Bolyai prize (in Hungarian Bolyai János Alkotói díj) in 2011. Life Graduating from Piarista Gimnázium, Budapest, he studied chemistry from 1980 at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), where he graduated as chemist in 1985. As a PhD student, besides his research he held practical classes in organic chemistry at the teachers’ training college of ELTE. While carrying on the practical classes, in 1987 Perczel became a scientific member of the Faculty of Organic Chemistry at ELTE. Béla Perczel
Dr. Béla Perczel de Bonyhád (15 June 1819 – 25 March 1888) was a Hungary, Hungarian politician and jurist, who served as Minister of Justice between 1875 and 1878. His son was the Interior Minister and Speaker of the House of Representatives Dezső Perczel. He was the leader of the Deák Party between 1869 and 1872. He was elected as List of Speakers of the House of Representatives of Hungary, Speaker of the House of Representatives in 1874. Béla Wenckheim appointed him Minister of Justice in 1875. Perczel held his position in the Kálmán Tisza cabinet. The first modern Hungarian penal code (''Csemegi Codex'') is connected to his name. He resigned in 1878. Later he became chairman of the Court. Dezső Perczel
Dr. Dezső Perczel de Bonyhád (18 January 1848 – 20 May 1913) was a Hungarian politician, who served as Interior Minister between 1895 and 1899 in Dezső Bánffy's cabinet. His father was Béla Perczel, a former Minister of Justice of Hungary. During his reigning Dezső Perczel supported the institution of civil marriage. He also made a law about the parish registers. He took several measures concerning about the labour movement's and the nationality movements' breaking off. Sir Miklós Perczel de Bonyhád (15 December 1812 in Bonyhád, Hungary – 4 March 1904 in Baja, Hungary), also known as Nicholas Perczel, was a Hungarian landholder, officer, and one of the leaders of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848. After his emigration to the United States of America he participated in the American Civil War as colonel of the 10th Iowa Infantry Regiment in the Union Army.
