Percy Feltham
Percy Victor Feltham (24 May 1902 – 24 October 1986) was an Australian politician. He was born in Melbourne to factory storeman Charles Edward Feltham and Annie Clarke, and was orphaned by the age of fourteen. He attended Melbourne High School and the University of Melbourne, where he received a Master of Law. He became a solicitor in Shepparton. On 16 November 1929 he married Sylvia Josephine Box, with whom he had two children. During World War II he served first in the AIF and then in the Royal Australian Air Force, in which he rose to the rank of wing commander and was attached to the staff of General Douglas MacArthur. He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 1943. After the war he returned to his law practice, and also farmed at Wyuna. In 1955 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Council as a Country Party member for Northern Province. Melbourne ( ; Boonwurrung/Woiwurrung: ''Narrm'' or ''Naarm'') is the capital and most populous city of the Australian state of Victoria, and the second-most populous city in both Australia and Oceania. The President of the Victorian Legislative Council, also known as the presiding officer of the council, is the presiding officer of the Victorian Legislative Council, the upper house of the Parliament of Victoria and equivalent to the President of the Australian Senate. When there is a vacancy in the office of president, a new president is elected by the members of the council from among its number. The president ceases to hold that office if they cease to be a member of the council, and can be removed at any time by a vote of the members. The current president is Shaun Leane. Stuart McDonald (Australian Politician)
Stuart Richard McDonald (18 April 1928 – 20 December 2017) was an Australian politician. He was born in Rochester, the son of farmer Angus McDonald. He attended Melbourne University, where he received a Master of Science degree, and worked for the CSIRO. From 1953 he farmed at Timmering East near Rochester, and became active in the Primary Producers' Union and the Victorian Farmers' Union. He was also a member of the Country Party, and was elected to the Victorian Legislative Council for Northern Province in 1967. He was deputy leader of the National Party (as it had been renamed) in the Council from 1973 to 1976 and leader from 1976 to 1979. In 1979 his province was abolished, and he unsuccessfully ran for Bendigo Province Bendigo Province was an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Council . Michael Clarke (Australian Politician)
Michael Alastair Clarke (28 September 1915 – 11 August 2002) was an Australian politician. He was born in Sunbury to Russell Clarke and Florence Douglas Mackenzie. He attended Melbourne Grammar School and then Oxford University, where he received a Master of Arts. In 1938 he was called to the bar, but his career was interrupted as he joined the Australian Imperial Force at the outbreak of World War II. He fought in the Battle of Britain and in North Africa, before being sent to Greece and Crete, where he was captured. He was a prisoner of war from 1941 to 1945, and on his return became a farmer at Clarkefield. He married Helen Rosalind Lewis on 16 September 1948; they had three daughters. In 1959 he moved to Rochester. In 1964 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Council as a Country Party member.
