Percival Flack Brundage
Percival Flack Brundage (April 2, 1892 – July 16, 1979) was an American accountant who served as the director of the United States Office of Management and Budget from April 2, 1956, until March 17, 1958. Early years Brundage was born on 2 April 1892 in Amsterdam, New York, the son of Unitarian minister the Rev. William Milton Brundage. Career Before entering government service, Brundage was an accountant since 1914, and a senior partner at Price Waterhouse & Co. Brundage was appointed as deputy director when Rowland Hughes was appointed director in May 1954. President Eisenhower appointed Brundage as director from 2 April 1956 (his 64th birthday), following Hughes' resignation. He resigned from the post on 13 March 1956. Project HOPE (Health Opportunities for People Everywhere) is an international global health and humanitarian aid non-governmental organization founded in the United States in 1958. Project HOPE works in five main areas: disasters and health crises; infectious diseases; noncommunicable diseases; maternal, neonatal and child health; and health policy. The organization has been led by President and CEO Rabih Torbay since 2019. Kermit Gordon
Kermit Gordon (July 3, 1916 – June 21, 1976) was Director of the United States Bureau of the Budget (now the Office of Management and Budget) (December 28, 1962 – June 1, 1965) during the administration of John F. Kennedy. He continued to serve in this capacity in the Lyndon Johnson administration. He oversaw the creation of the first budgets for Johnson's Great Society domestic agenda. Gordon was a member of the Council of Economic Advisors, 1961-1962. After he retired from government service, he joined the Brookings Institution, first as vice president (1965–1967) and then as its president for nearly a decade (1967–1976). During his tenure, Brookings developed a left-of-center reputation chiefly because Gordon was a supporter of the Great Society and critic of the Vietnam War. The ''Palm Beach Daily News'' is a newspaper serving the town of Palm Beach in Palm Beach County in South Florida. It is also known as "The Shiny Sheet" because of its heavy, slick newsprint stock. It was founded in 1897 as the ''Lake Worth Daily News'', and it covers the news and social affairs of the residents on the island of Palm Beach itself. Previously owned by Cox Enterprises, it has been a sister publication of ''The Palm Beach Post'' since 1948, when Florida newspaper owner John Perry, owner of ''The Post'', bought the ''Daily News'' as well.
