Pepita Ferrari
Pepita Ferrari (1952 - 2018) was a Canadian filmmaker. In 1994 she began her long-standing relationship with the National Film Board of Canada, who produced seven of her films, five of which are available to stream online in both English and French. Her directorial debut ''By Woman's Hand'' was a documentary about the Beaver Hall Group, a group of Canadian women painters, who were associated with the Group of Seven. Ferrari focused on the three most prominent artists from the group: Prudence Heward, Sarah Robertson and Anne Savage. Her 2010 documentary '' Capturing Reality: The Art of Documentary'' features well-known living documentary filmmakers such as Nick Broomfield, Werner Herzog, Kim Longinotto and Errol Morris watching their own films and discussing the technical and ethical choices that guided their work. Kim Longinotto ( Sally Anne Longinotto-Landseer; born 8 February 1948, London) is a British documentary film maker, well-known for making films that highlight the plight of female victims of oppression or discrimination. Longinotto has made more than 20 films, usually featuring inspiring women and girls at their core. ''Dogs with Jobs'' is a Canadian documentary television series about working dogs and show dogs. Each half-hour episode consists of two to three segments on individual dogs from around the world. The family-friendly series has featured service dogs, search and rescue dogs, police dogs, herding dogs, and others. Segments show footage of dogs on the job, and also include stories of their rescue, training, and relationships with their owners and handlers. Production and broadcast The idea for the series came from Canadian writer Merrily Weisbord and her daughter, veterinarian Kim Kachanoff. They made use of a "doggie-cam", giving viewers a glimpse into the dog's perspective. The Town of Brome Lake (officially Ville de Lac-Brome) is a town in southern Quebec, Canada. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 5,609.
