Pepino, Spain
Pepino is a municipality in the province of Toledo, Castile-La Mancha, in central Spain. According to the 2017 census the municipality has a population of 2,809 inhabitants. Location Pepino is located 9 km north Talavera de la Reina and 84 km west of Toledo city. Historically it began to be populated in the 14th century, after the Moorish retreat from the area. Pepino was part of a shire (''Señorío'') of Talavera de la Reina belonging to the Archbishops of Toledo. Now it is part of the Talavera de la Reina judicial district. This town lies in the ''comarca'' of Sierra de San Vicente, named after nearby Sierra de San Vicente range, part of the Central System. A census is the procedure of systematically acquiring, recording and calculating information about the members of a given population. Central System
The Central System, Spanish and pt, Sistema Central, is one of the main systems of mountain ranges in the Iberian Peninsula. The 2,592 m high Pico Almanzor is its highest summit. The Central System is located just north of the 40th parallel and its ranges divide the drainage basin of the Tagus from the basin of the Douro. Description The Sistema Central is a primary feature of the Meseta Central, the inner Iberian plateau, splitting the meseta into two parts. Comarca
A ''comarca'' (, or , or ) is a traditional region or local administrative division found in Portugal, Spain and some of their former colonies, like Brazil, Nicaragua, and Panama. The term is derived from the term ''marca'', meaning a "march, mark", plus the prefix ''co''-, meaning "together, jointly". The ''comarca'' is known in Aragonese as ''redolada'' () and in Basque as ''eskualde'' (). In addition, in Galician, ''comarcas'' are also called ''bisbarras'' (). Although the English word "county" and its near synonym "shire" have similar meanings, they are usually translated into Spanish and Portuguese as ''condado'', a term which in the Iberian peninsula only refers to regions historically ruled by a ''conde'' (count or earl). Talavera De La Reina
Talavera de la Reina () is a city and municipality of Spain, part of the autonomous community of Castile–La Mancha. Its population of 83,303 makes it the second most populated municipality of the province of Toledo and the fourth largest in the region. Although the city straddles both banks of the Tagus, few kilometres downstream from the junction of the former with the Alberche, most of the urbanisation concentrates on the right (northern) bank. There are two islands in the center of the city called Isla Grande and Chamelo Island. Three bridges cross the Tagus in Talavera. The city is well known by its pottery craft.
