Pentti Siimes
Pentti Kalevi Siimes (10 September 1929 – 27 October 2016) was a Finnish actor. He appeared in more than 80 films and television shows between 1946 and 2008. Siimes starred in the film ''Miriam'', which was entered into the 8th Berlin International Film Festival. His paternal grandfather was Polish. Siimes was married to actress Elina Pohjanpää from 1956 until her death in 1996. The 8th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 27 June to 8 July 1958 with the Zoo Palast as the main venue. Elina Pohjanpää
Armi Elina Annikki Pohjanpää (8 April 1933, in Helsinki – 13 January 1996) was a Finnish actress. Her theatrical career lasted for 40 years, and in addition, she appeared in several Finnish films by directors such as Ilmari Unho, Aarne Tarkas and Matti Kassila. In theatre Pohjanpää's career started in a Kotka City Theatre in 1952 where she also met her future husband Pentti Siimes. The two got married in 1956, and their marriage lasted until Pohjanpää's death. After a year in Kotka, Pohjanpää started to work for Helsinki City Theatre where she stayed employed for the rest of her life. Films Elina Pohjanpää was 17 years old when she made her first film appearance in a film ''Amor hoi!'' (1950). Her first leading role came a year later with ''Kuisma ja Helinä'' (1951). Gas, Inspector Palmu! (original Finnish title: ''Kaasua, komisario Palmu!'') is a 1961 Finnish crime movie directed by Matti Kassila. It is a sequel to Inspector Palmu's Mistake and is followed by The Stars Will Tell, Inspector Palmu. The main cast of actors is the same as that of the first though some actors such as Elina Salo, Pentti Siimes and Aino Mantsas play different characters, It is based on the first Inspector Palmu novel '' Who Murdered Mrs. Skrof?'' ''The Stars Will Tell, Inspector Palmu'' (Finnish: ''Tähdet kertovat, komisario Palmu'') is a 1962 Finnish comedy-crime film directed by Matti Kassila. It is the third film in the ''Inspector Palmu'' series and the second one produced by Fennada-Filmi. The novel was written by Waltari through the explicit request by director Kassila. It is also the last film in the series to be shot in black and white. The fourth film was made without Waltari's involvement.
