Penne Percy Korth
Penne Percy Korth Peacock (born November 3, 1942) is an American diplomat. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1964 with a B.A. She is a commissioner of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy. Nominated in 1997, Korth Peacock previously served as Ambassador to Mauritius from 1989 to 1992. In 1993, Korth Peacock co-founded Firestone and Korth Ltd., a corporate consulting and events management firm in Washington, D.C. Korth Peacock currently serves on the Boards of Chevy Chase Bank, the Council of American Ambassadors, Meridian International Center, the Van Cliburn Foundation, the Marjorie Merriweather Post Foundation of DC, and the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training. The United States Bicentennial was a series of celebrations and observances during the mid-1970s that paid tribute to historical events leading up to the creation of the United States of America as an independent republic.
