The Circular light rail () is a light rail line in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, operated by Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corporation. The southern part of this line makes use of the defunct tracks of the Kaohsiung Harbor Railway Line. Construction cost was forecasted to be 16.5 billion New Taiwan dollars. Phase I consists of the section of the line from Station C1 to Station C14, of which Stations C3 and C14 are transfer stations to KMRT and , respectively. Construction of Phase I began on 4 June 2013. Stations C1 to C14 were open on a test-basis (free for the public) from August 2015, and commenced formal operations in September 2017. From November 2014 onwards, the CAF Urbos trams used in these tracks were tested in this line parked on multiple occasions. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. Kaohsiung Rapid Transit
Kaohsiung Metro () is a rapid transit and light rail system covering the metropolitan area of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Its rapid transit network is known as Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit or Kaohsiung MRT. Pier-2 Art Center
The Pier-2 Art Center () is an art center in Yancheng District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. History The arts center was originally an abandoned warehouse site due to Kaohsiung's shift from industrial city to service city. The warehouses were built in 1973. Due to the persistence of local artists, the area was finally released and remade to be an arts center. In 2006, the Bureau of Cultural Affairs of Kaohsiung City Government and under management of the Kaohsiung Pier-2 Art Development Association and Shu-Te University's art development workshop took over the center, starting a series of exhibitions. On 9 March 2021 at 1:04 a.m., a fire broke out at one of the warehouse building of the center. The fire was extinguished two hours later which left the building with only its concrete walls and metal frames. Hamasen Museum Of Taiwan Railway
The Hamasen Museum of Taiwan Railway () is a railway museum in Pier-2 Art Center, Yancheng District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. History The museum building was originally constructed as a railway station. In 2003, the museum building was declared a historical building by the Kaohsiung City Government. On 9 November 2008, the last train departed from the station and soon later the station was closed down and the city government took over the ownership of the building. On 24 October 2010, the government granted the permit to Railway Culture Society to transform the building into a museum. museum was opened on 3 July 2016. Kaohsiung Harbor Museum
The Kaohsiung Harbor Museum () is a museum in Gushan District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan dedicated to the preservation of artifacts on the development of Port of Kaohsiung. History The museum building was built in 1916 and completed in 1917 to be used as Kaohsiung Harbor's Customs and Duties Office during the Japanese rule of Taiwan. In 1943, it became the Harbor Affairs Bureau and served as the headquarter of Port of Kaohsiung. It had then been used as the office for government-related agencies throughout the history until 1994 when it became vacant and subject to demolition. However, owing to its historical value, the office was renovated in 1997 and transformed into Kaohsiung Harbor Museum.
