Pela (band)
Pela was an American indie rock band from Brooklyn known for their intense live performances. History Pela's history goes back to the early ’90s when lead vocalist and guitarist William McCarthy met Christopher Herb. As best friends they worked at a mall together after dropping out of high school, and then traveled around the world together playing music in various cities. Herb and McCarthy began a folk project called Igloo Gazelle in New York City in 2001. In early 2002, Herb had a chance meeting with Eric Sanderson on a subway platform at 7th avenue in Brooklyn where Herb was busking. Sanderson was invited to a practice session and joined the band shortly thereafter. In late 2002, Herb abruptly moved to Australia for four years. Sanderson & McCarthy soon broke up Igloo Gazelle and teamed with guitarist Nate Martinez. Mike Pela
Mike Pela (13 January 1950 – 23 July 2022) was a British record producer and mixer. He worked with various artists including Sade, Maxwell, Savage Garden and others, spanning a wide array of genres. Career Pela started his career in the 1970s working at the CTS / De Lane Lea recording complex in London. He worked on many projects during this time including The Who's ''Tommy'' and the Electric Light Orchestra's ''Eldorado''. He then went into a freelance role where he worked with artists such as Alice Cooper, Stephen Stills, Hawkwind, Nico, and Pete Townshend. In the 1980s he worked out of Robin Millar's Power Plant studios, where he was able to participate in music projects featuring artists such as Boy George, Fine Young Cannibals, Everything but the Girl, Tom Robinson, The Style Council, Gang of Four and Sade. Niccolò Di Piero Lamberti
Niccolò di Piero Lamberti (ca. 1370 – 1451), also known as Niccolò di Pietro Lamberti, Niccolo Aretino, Niccolò d'Arezzo and as il Pela, was an Italian Renaissance sculptor and architect. Little is known about his life other than that he was married in Florence in 1392. His son, Piero di Niccolò Lamberti (1393–1435), was also a sculptor, and the two are notable for exporting the Tuscan style of sculpture to Venice, where they were active in the late 1410s and 1420s. By 1391 he was working on the Porta della Mandorla of the Florence Cathedral. In 1401 he was one of the artists who participated in the contest that was held to design the North doors of the Florence Baptistery, won by Lorenzo Ghiberti. In 1408 he was chosen as one of three sculptors to create one of the seated Evangelists (St. Mark) for Florence Cathedral.
