Pedro Carmona-Alvarez (born 15 February 1972) is a Chilean / Norwegian novelist A novelist is an author or writer of novels, though often novelists also write in other genres of both fiction and non-fiction. Some novelists are professional novelists, thus make a living writing novels and other fiction, while others aspire to ..., poet and musician. He made his literary debut in 1997 with the poetry collection ''Helter''. Among his novels are ''La det bare bli blåmerker igjen'' from 2000 and ''Rust'' from 2009. He was awarded the Cappelen Prize in 2004. Personal life Carmona-Alvarez was born on 15 February 1972 in La Serena, Chile. A refugee with his family in Argentina as a child, he later settled in Norway. La Serena, Chile
La Serena () is a city and commune in northern Chile, capital of the Coquimbo Region. Founded in 1544, it is the country's second oldest city after the national capital, Santiago. As of 2012, it had a communal population of roughly 200,000, and was one of the fastest-growing areas of Chile.
