Pecanwood Classic
The MyGolfLife Open was a professional golf tournament held at Pecanwood Golf and Country Club, in Hartbeespoort, South Africa. The tournament was introduced for the 2022 season as a co-sanctioned European Tour and Sunshine Tour event. Originally titled as the Pecanwood Classic, the name was eventually changed to the MyGolfLife Open. Pablo Larrazábal won the inaugural event, beating Adri Arnaus Adrià Arnaus Antúnez (born 17 October 1994) is a Spanish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Hartbeespoort
Hartbeespoort, informally also known as "Harties", is a small resort town in the North West Province of South Africa, situated on slopes of the Magaliesberg mountain and the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam. The name of the town means "gateway of the hartbees" (a species of antelope) in Afrikaans. Schoemansville, named after General Hendrik Schoeman, a Boer General in the Anglo-Boer War, who owned the farm that the Hartbeespoort Dam was built on, is the oldest neighbourhood of Hartbeespoort. Hartbeespoort is the collective name of a few smaller towns situated around the Hartbeespoort Dam, including the towns of Meerhof, Ifafi, Melodie, Schoemansville and Kosmos. The town consists of holiday homes and permanent residences around the dam as it is popular with visitors from nearby Gauteng Province. European Tour
The European Tour (currently known as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons), legally the PGA European Tour is the leading men's professional golf tour in Europe. The organisation also operates the European Senior Tour (for players aged fifty or older) and the developmental Challenge Tour; the second tier of men’s professional golf in Europe. Sunshine Tour
The Sunshine Tour is a men's professional golf tour based in Southern and East Africa. For much of its early history it was known either as the South African Tour or Sunshine Circuit; through sponsorship deals, it has also been known as the Vodacom Tour and the FNB Tour. For the 2000–01 season the tour rebranded itself as the ''Sunshine Tour'' in an attempt to broaden its appeal. A large majority of the tour events are still staged in South Africa. Stroke Play
Stroke play, also known as medal play, is a scoring system in the sport of golf in which the total number of strokes is counted over one or more rounds of 18 holes. In stroke play, the winner is the player who has taken the fewest strokes over the course of the round, or rounds. Adrià Arnaus Antúnez (born 17 October 1994) is a Spanish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He won the 2022 Catalunya Championship on the European Tour. Amateur career Arnaus attended Texas A&M University from 2012 to 2016. He had a successful year in 2017, winning the Spanish Amateur Championship and being a member of the Spanish team that won the European Amateur Team Championship. Pablo Larrazábal Corominas (born 15 May 1983) is a Spanish professional golfer currently playing on the European Tour. He also played in the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series event at the Centurion Club. Early life Larrazábal was born in Barcelona, Spain. He attended high school in the United States and returned to Spain in 2002 with the intention of turning professional but his father made him work on the family fish farm in Cantabria to understand the value of money. He eventually turned professional in 2004. Jordan Lewis Smith (born 9 November 1992) is an English professional golfer. Professional career Smith turned professional in 2014. He played mainly on the PGA EuroPro Tour in 2015 winning twice. He also won the tour's Order of Merit which gained him a Challenge Tour card for 2016. He won two Challenge Tour events in 2016, the Red Sea Egyptian Challenge and the Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge. 2022 European Tour
The 2022 European Tour, titled as the 2022 DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, is the 51st season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 1st edition of the DP World Tour Rankings. It is the first season of the tour under a title sponsorship agreement with DP World, that was announced in November 2021. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2022 season. Many tournaments had been confirmed independently ahead of the official announcement in November 2021, when the majority of the tournaments were confirmed along with the DP World title sponsorship agreement.
