Peasants Party Of Serbia
The Peasants Party of Serbia ( or ''Seljačka stranka Srbije'') was a political party in Serbia. History It was founded on 26 October 1990 in Kragujevac by Milomir Babić at which point it was called the Party of the Serbian Peasants Union. In the 1990 legislative election, it won 1,1% and 2 seats in two districts. The elected MPs were Milomir Babić in Desimirovac and Ljubomir Dodić in Milutovac. In the 1992 legislative election it won 2,7% and 3 seats. During 1993 the PPS was part of the DEPOS. However, it decided to run in the 1993 election alone in November 1993. In 1996 Živko Selaković was elected party president. In the 1997 election it was part of an alliance around the Democratic Alternative headed by Nebojša Čović and won no seats. Two splinter groups led by Radosav Drezgić from Dublje and Ljubomir Dodić from Milutovac ran in the 1997 election independently from Selaković's PPS. Nebojša Čović
Nebojša Čović ( sr-Cyrl, Небојша Човић; 2 July 1958) is a Serbian businessman, basketball executive, and politician. Since 2011, he has been serving as the president of Crvena zvezda mts Belgrade. Early years and education Čović was born in Belgrade, PR Serbia, FPR Yugoslavia, and graduated from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In 2000, he obtained his PhD at the same university. Borislav Pelević ( sr-cyr, Борислав Пелевић; 22 November 1956 – 25 October 2018) was a Serbian politician. New Serbia ( sr-cyrl, Нова Србија, Nova Srbija, NS) is a right-wing political party in Serbia. It was established in 1998 by a group of dissidents led by Velimir Ilić from the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO). History New Serbia was part of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS) bloc which defeated Slobodan Milošević in the 2000 presidential election. The People's Party ( sr, Народна странка / ''Narodna stranka'') was a political party in Serbia. Its president was Milan Paroški. History In the 1990 election it ran in coalition with the Serbian Renewal Movement and won one seat in one of the districts of Novi Sad. The elected MP was Milan Paroški. On 18 December 1995 it was announced that the People's Party was merging with the Democratic Party, taking a right-wing turn under Zoran Đinđić. This proved highly controversial, and Đinđić defended the decision saying that Paroški was remembered not for his monarchism but for his strong opposition credentials. Milan Paroški ( Serbian Cyrillic: Милан Парошки; born 5 March 1957) is a Serbian writer and politician. Biography He held a speech at the 9 March 1991 protest in Belgrade. Paroški advocated that the FR Yugoslavia recognize the Republic of Serbian Krajina and was leader of the Serbian Chetnik Movement in 1993.
