Pearse Island is an island in western British Columbia, Canada, in the Portland Inlet, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean. The island was first charted in 1793 by George Vancouver during his Vancouver Expedition, 1791-95 expedition. It was named by George Henry Richards, captain of , circa 1860, in honour of William Alfred Rombulow Pearse of the Royal Navy, who had been commander of . Location and territorial claims The island is in size. It is separated from the mainland of Alaska by the wide Pearse Canal, which forms part of the Canada–United States border in this area. The island is north of Prince Rupert, British Columbia. It and neighbouring islands figured in one of the territorial and marine-boundary quarrels of the Alaska boundary dispute (the island was formerly claimed by the United States). Pearse Museum
The Pearse Museum ( ga, Músaem na bPiarsach) is dedicated to the memory of Patrick Pearse and his brother, William. Patrick Pearse was an educationalist and nationalist who was executed for his part in the 1916 Rising. The museum is situated in St. Enda's Park in the suburb of Rathfarnham on the south side of Dublin, Ireland. It was formerly an Irish speaking school named St. Enda's. Originally Pearse's school was set up in Ranelagh on 8 September 1908. It moved to Rathfarnham in 1910. After Pearse was executed for his part take in the 1916 rising, and due to decreasing numbers and increasing financial worries, the school closed in 1935. After Padraig Pearse's sister ( Margaret Mary Pearse) died in 1968, St. Enda's and its grounds were handed over to the state, and the school house is now a museum devoted to the Pearse brothers. The Pearse River is a river of the Tasman Region of New Zealand's South Island. It flows east from sources in the Wharepapa / Arthur Range, reaching the Motueka River 20 kilometres southwest of Motueka. The source is a resurgence near the Nettlebed Cave. The resurgence has been dived to a depth of 245 metres and a diver had died in one attempt. At least three undescribed species have been found by divers in the resurgence.
