Fort Valley, Georgia
Fort Valley is a city in and the county seat of Peach County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 8,780. The city is in the Warner Robins metropolitan area and the Macon–Warner Robins combined statistical area. History The town's name is a mystery, as it has never had a fort. Historians believe that the name was mistakenly changed in a transcription error when the post office was named; the area was originally thought to have been called Fox Valley. Antone Davis
Antone Eugene Davis (born February 28, 1967) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive tackle and guard in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons during the 1990s. He played one year of football for Peach County High School in Fort Valley, Georgia, and was recruited out of high school by the Tennessee Military Institute, for whom he played one year of college football. He earned a full scholarship to play for the Tennessee Volunteers the following year and started at left guard during his sophomore year in 1988. He was moved to right offensive tackle before his junior year and earned unanimous All-American honors as a senior in 1990. He finished as a finalist for the 1990 Outland Trophy as well, and was drafted by the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles as the eighth overall selection in the 1991 NFL Draft. Alfred Amadu Conteh is an American sculptor, painter and mixed-media artist. Biography Alfred Amadu Conteh was born in 1975 in Fort Valley, Georgia. Ed Beck
Edward Paul Beck (June 28, 1936 – October 16, 2019) was an American college basketball player. He is best known as the starting center and team captain of the "Fiddlin' Five," the University of Kentucky's 1958 NCAA championship team. Beck was recruited to play at Kentucky after scoring 1,549 points and leading his team to win two state titles at Fort Valley High School. Beck was named team captain by head coach Adolph Rupp going into his senior season after scoring 259 points and grabbing 380 rebounds as a junior. As a senior, Beck scored 163 points and had 337 rebounds in 29 games and was named Southeastern Conference (SEC) Defensive Player of the Year.
