Peace Kanwal
Peace Kanwal (born 16 December, in the 1930s) is an Indian film actress and artist. Early life Kanwal was born in Amritsar, the daughter of Indriyaas (Andrew) Munshilal Kanwal. Both parents were from Rajput families; her father was a Christian missionary and a doctor at hospitals in Agra and Amritsar. She was admitted to Ludhiana Medical College. Career While in medical school, Kanwal won a national beauty contest in 1953, and followed an acting career instead. She appeared in several films between 1953 and 1991, including ''Dil-E-Nadaan'' (1953), '' Barati'' (1954), ''Kismet'' (1956), ''Barsaat Ki Raat'' (1960), ''Aarti'' (1962), ''Aasmaan'' (1982), and ''Woh Subah Kabhi to Aayegi'' (1991). She endorsed Kaminia Toiletries, including hair products, soap, and makeup; the product line's name was similar to that of her character, Kamini, in ''Dil-E-Nadaan''. Amritsar (), historically also known as Rāmdāspur and colloquially as ''Ambarsar'', is the second largest city in the Indian state of Punjab, after Ludhiana. Rajput (from Sanskrit ''raja-putra'' 'son of a king') is a large multi-component cluster of castes, kin bodies, and local groups, sharing social status and ideology of genealogical descent originating from the Indian subcontinent. Christian Medical College, Ludhiana
The Christian Medical College and Hospital is a private, minority-run teaching hospital in Ludhiana, India. Founded in 1894, it was then the first medical school for women in Asia. History Medical missionary work in Ludhiana was begun in 1881 by Scottish evangelist sisters Martha Rose Greenfield and Kay Greenfield. Dame Edith Mary Brown joined them in 1893. The following year they established the North Indian School of Medicine for Christian Women. ''Dil-E-Nadaan'' (Naive Heart) is a 1953 Hindi romantic drama film produced and directed by A. R. Kardar. Produced under the banner of Kardar Productions Ltd., the story and dialogue were handled by the story department of Kardar Production Ltd unit. The cinematography was by Dwarka Divecha. The music director was Ghulam Mohammed (composer), Ghulam Mohammed, with lyrics written by Shakeel Badayuni. It was Talat Mehmood's debut acting role, and he was introduced as the "Singing Star Talat Mehmood". ''Barsaat Ki Raat'' () is a 1960 Indian Hindi-language romantic musical film directed by P. L. Santoshi and produced by R. Chandra. Starring Madhubala, Bharat Bhushan and Shyama, the film is considered a defining example of romantic musical film genre. ''Aarti'' is a 1962 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Phani Majumdar and produced by Tarachand Barjatya.
