Pavel Țugui
Pavel Țugui (1 November 1921 – 20 September 2021) was a Romanian communist activist and literary historian. Born in Vicovu de Jos, Rădăuți County (now part of Suceava County), he graduated from high school in Cernăuți, after which he became a teacher. In 1943–1944 he attended military school, and in the fall of 1944 he fought in World War II on the Transylvanian front. Initially a member of the Ploughmen's Front, Țugui joined in July 1945 the Romanian Communist Party (PCR; later PMR). In 1945 he enrolled in the Law School of the University of Iași, but quit after one semester, and in 1947 went to study at the Ștefan Gheorghiu Academy in Bucharest. Working in the agitation and propaganda section of the Central Committee of the PMR, he advanced between 1955 and 1960 from instructor to head of the literature and arts section to division chief. Constanța Crăciun
Constanța Crăciun (16 February 1914 – 2 May 2002) was a Romanian politician and educator. Biography She was born in Constanța. She studied literature and philosophy. She became a member of the Romanian Communist Party in 1935. She was arrested in 1942 and sentenced to 25 years in prison, serving time in the Văcărești and Mislea prisons before she was released in 1944. From 1948 to 1953, she was a member of the Great National Assembly of the People's Republic of Romania. She served as Minister of Culture from 1953 to 1957 and, in 1959, became deputy minister of culture. From 1962 to 1965, she was president of the State Committee for Culture and Art. From 1965 to 1969, she was vice-president of the State Council. Crăciun was a member of the central committee of the Communist Party from 1945 to 1969 and from 1972 to 1974. AGERPRES () is the national news agency of Romania. History The National News Agency "AGERPRES" is the oldest Romanian news agency and the first autonomous agency in Romania. It was established in March 1889 at the initiative of Foreign Minister Petre P. Carp, as the Telegraph Agency of Romania or Romanian Agency with serving as a "fast and accurate service of all general or special interest news". The Telegraph Agency of Romania was suspended from the end of 1916 until the end of World War I. On June 16, 1921, it established the agency Orient-Radio, "caring only for the general interest and that of its subscribers." In 1926 it takes place a new reorganization of the agency, the Romanian Parliament decided shifting to name RADOR - Information Telegraph Agency.
