Paula Pell
Paula Pell (born April 15, 1963) is an American comedy writer, producer, and actress, best known for her work writing for the sketch series ''Saturday Night Live,'' being recognized with a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program and seven Writers Guild of America Awards. In 2019 Pell was honored with the Herb Sargent Award for Comedy Excellence. Pell has produced, written, and performed in numerous TV series, including ''30 Rock, A.P. Bio, ''Love'', and Mapleworth Murders,'' and has worked as a writer for awards ceremonies like the Academy Awards, the Golden Globes and the MTV Video Music Awards. As a voiceover artist, she has voiced characters in ''Inside Out'', ''Big Mouth'', and ''Bless the Harts.'' ''Employee of the Month'' was a talk show hosted by Catie Lazarus that features guests with jobs of interest, ranging from television personalities and musicians to comedians and puppeteers. It began as a live show in 2010 and became a podcast in 2012. Lazarus has hosted live tapings at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York City, 92 Y in Los Angeles and The Bell House in Brooklyn. It has been syndicated for airing on Sirius XM Radio. The show is currently performed and taped live at Joe's Pub in New York City monthly. Debbie Downer is a fictional ''Saturday Night Live'' character who debuted in 2004, and was created and portrayed by Rachel Dratch. Evolving from the character's popularity, the name Debbie Downer eventually became an established slang phrase referring to a pessimistic person who frequently adds bad news and negative feelings to a gathering, thus bringing down the mood of everyone around them. Seminole State College of Florida is a public college with four campuses in Central Florida. It is part of the Florida College System.
