Paul Vinsnes
Paul Vinsnes (18 October 1794 – 23 August 1889) was a Norwegian priest and politician. Biography Vinsnes was born at Drammen in Buskerud, Norway. He was the son of Johan Fredrik Winsnes (1768–1838) and his wife Barbara Holm (1774–1828). His father had been a parish priest to Råde in Østfold, later in Stange in Hedmark. His grandfather had been a Magistrate for the Gudbrandsdalen district of Norddalen in Oppland. He graduated from the University of Copenhagen as cand.theol. with laud in 1814. He first worked for two years as a teacher in Drammen, then a catechist at Our Saviour's Church in Kristiania (now Oslo Cathedral) before he became chaplain in Vang in Hedmark in 1819. He was then appointed as vicar in Trysil in Hedemark in 1820, Hurdal in Akershus in 1822, Aurdal in Nord-Aurdal in 1827. Trysil
Trysil is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Østerdalen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Innbygda. Other villages in the municipality include Nybergsund, Østby, and Tørberget. The municipality is the 15th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Hans Strøm
Hans Strøm (25 January 1726 – 1 February 1797) was a Norwegian clergyman. He also became a prominent zoologist and naturalist. He is best associated with his topographical description of the traditional district of Sunnmøre. Life Hans Strøm was born at Borgund in Møre og Romsdal, Norway. His father was a clergyman and many other relatives of both his father and mother were ministers. He attended the Bergen Cathedral School. He was educated as a Lutheran clergyman and in 1745 took a theological degree at the University of Copenhagen. Then he worked from 1750 to 1764 as chaplain in Borgund. In 1764 he became parish priest, first in Volda where he served until 1779, when he went to Eiker where he served as Vicar for 18 years. He died at Hokksund in Øvre Eiker in Buskerud. Hanna Winsnes
Hanna Olava Winsnes (née Strøm; 29 August 1789 – 19 October 1872) was a Norwegian poet, novelist and cookbook writer. She was born in the Bragernes neighborhood of Drammen in Buskerud, Norway. She was the daughter of Jens Henrich Strøm (1729–1809) and Karen Tyrholm Plathe (1755–1805). She was married to parish priest and member of Parliament, Paul Winsnes (1794–1889). She was the great-grandmother of Norwegian novelist, Barbra Ring. Hanna Winsnes was the first female novelist in Norway. Her first publication was ''Grevens Datter'' from 1841, published under the pseudonym "Hugo Schwarz". She followed with the children's book ''Aftnerne paa Egelund'' (1852). She is particularly remembered for her cookbook, ''Lærebog i de forskjellige Grene af Huusholdningen'' (Guide to the Various Branches of Housekeeping) from 1845, which also included themes such as livestock farming, butchering, baking, boiling of soap, and candlemoulding. Hedemark
Hedmark () was a county in Norway before 1 January 2020, bordering Trøndelag to the north, Oppland to the west, Akershus to the south, and Sweden to the east. The county administration is in Hamar. Hedmark and Oppland counties were merged into Innlandet county on 1 January 2020, when Norway's former 19 counties became 10 bigger counties / regions Hedmark made up the northeastern part of Østlandet, the southeastern part of the country. Vestfold
Vestfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in Eastern Norway. In 2020 the county became part of the much larger county of Vestfold og Telemark. Located on the western shore of the Oslofjord, it bordered the previous Buskerud and Telemark counties. The county administration was located in Tønsberg, Norway's oldest city, and the largest city is Sandefjord. With the exception of the city-county of Oslo, Vestfold was the smallest county in Norway by area. Vestfold was the only county in which all municipalities had declared Bokmål to be their sole official written form of the Norwegian language. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. Larvik
Larvik () is a List of cities in Norway, town and Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark Counties of Norway, county, Norway. Brunlanes
Brunlanes is a parish and former municipality within Larvik municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. It was annexed by Larvik on January 1, 1988. The administrative centre of the municipality was located in the adjacent villages of Nevlunghavn and Helgeroa. Arguably the best soil in Vestfold County can be found in Brunlanes, and farming is the main industry with considerable vegetable- and corn cultivation. It is home to Berg Old Church at Berg, which was erected in the 1100s, but laid in ruins by the 1960s. The church had been rebuilt and features a clear-cut architecture with a red tilestone roof.
