Paul Sutherland (born ) is a former politician in Toronto, Ontario. He was a City Councillor from 2000 to 2003, former North York City Councillor, a former candidate for the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party in the provincial riding of Don Valley East in 2003, and a member of the Economic Committee of the Toronto Board of Trade from 2004 to 2005. His parents, Bill Sutherland and Betty Sutherland, were both members of North York City Council. The North York Civic Centre is a municipal government of Toronto, municipal government building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It opened in 1979 as the city hall of the former city of North York. It is located in North York City Centre. Designed by Adamson Associates Architects, the building is located on Yonge Street north of Sheppard Avenue, and features Mel Lastman Square along the Yonge Street frontage. William "Bill" Sutherland (1926/27 – June 11, 1998) was a municipal politician in Toronto, Canada. He served on the North York City Council and the Metropolitan Toronto Council for several years, and challenged Mel Lastman for Mayor of North York in 1976. Early life and career Sutherland was born in Toronto, received a journalism degree from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, and worked for a large electrical manufacturing firm before entering political life.
