Paul Sadler
Paul Lindsey Sadler (born April 29, 1955) is an American attorney from Henderson, Texas, now residing in Bandera, Texas who served from 1991 to 2003 in the Texas House of Representatives. He was the Democratic nominee for the United States Senate in 2012. In the November 6 general election, he lost against the Republican Ted Cruz, a former state Solicitor General. Early life, education, and law career Sadler was born in Freer east of Laredo in South Texas, to Harold Sidney and Bessie Mae "Pete" Sadler. His father worked for Sun Oil Company and moved his family throughout Texas, California, and Louisiana. In 1977, Sadler graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. In 1979, he graduated from Baylor Law School. He is an active member of the Texas Bar. Byron Cook (Texas Politician)
Byron Cook is an American businessman, rancher, and Republican politician from his native Corsicana in east central Texas, who is a former state representative for District 8, which encompasses the counties of Anderson, Freestone, Hill, and Navarro. In October 2017, Cook announced that he would not seek re-election in 2018. Early life and education Cook graduated from Navarro College, a community college, with an associate degree in 1974. South Texas
South Texas is a region of the U.S. state of Texas that lies roughly south of—and includes—San Antonio. The southern and western boundary is the Rio Grande, and to the east it is the Gulf of Mexico. The population of this region is about 4.96 million according to the 2017 census estimates. The southern portion of this region is often referred to as the Rio Grande Valley. The eastern portion along the Gulf of Mexico is also referred to as the Coastal Bend. Greater Houston and Beaumont–Port Arthur are occasionally tied to the region, both for physically being on the southern end of the state and for businesses that use "South Texas" in its name.
