Paul Peters (politician)
P.J.J.M. (Paul) Peters (Roosteren, 1942) is a Dutch politician of the Catholic People's Party and later the Christian Democratic Appeal. He was born as the son of the head teacher and later politician :nl:Jan Mathijs Peters, Jan Mathijs Peters. He himself was chief commissioner at the municipal secretariat in Ede, Netherlands, Ede and also a municipal councilor in Heteren before he became mayor of the Limburg (Netherlands), Limburg municipality of Wijlre in November 1975, which ceased to exist on 1 January 1982 and was divided among the new municipalities of Margraten and Gulpen. In August 1981 Peters was appointed mayor of the municipality of Belfeld and in June 1992 he was appointed mayor of Didam. On 1 January 2005, the municipalities of Didam and Bergh merged to form the new municipality Montferland, of which Peters was acting mayor until :nl:Ina Leppink-Schuitema, Ina Leppink-Schuitema succeeded him there in September 2005. Roosteren
Roosteren () is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Echt-Susteren. The village was first mentioned in 1201 as Rustern. The etymology is unclear. Roosteren developed in the Middle Ages as a linear settlement. In the 13th century, it became part of the Duchy of Guelders. The centre moved to the hamlet Scheiereynde where a church was built. The St Jacobus de Meerdere Church is a three-aisled neoclassic church which was in 1843. It was damaged during World War II and restored in 1946. Eyckholt Castle is a late-16th century estate. A tower was added in the 19th century. Ter Borch Castle (also Roosterborch) was built around 1880 and the location of a 15th century which was demolished in 1632. Roosteren was home to 746 people in 1840. It was a separate municipality until 1982, when it was merged with Susteren. The municipality also covered the hamlets of , , and . The first Rutte cabinet, also called the Rutte–Verhagen cabinet was the executive branch of the Government of the Netherlands from 14 October 2010 until 5 November 2012. The cabinet was formed by the conservative-liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) and the Christian-democratic Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) after the election of 2010. The Party for Freedom ( nl, Partij voor de Vrijheid, PVV) is a nationalist, right-wing populist political party in the Netherlands. Founded in 2006 as the successor to Geert Wilders' one-man faction in the House of Representatives, it won nine seats in the 2006 general election making it the fifth-largest party in parliament. In the 2010 general election it won 24 seats, making it the third-largest party. At that time the PVV agreed to support the minority government led by Prime Minister Mark Rutte without having PVV ministers in the cabinet. However, the PVV withdrew its support in April 2012 due to differences over budget cuts at the Catshuis. Heteren is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Overbetuwe, about 12 km southwest of Arnhem on the south bank of the Rhine. The Christian Democratic Appeal ( nl, Christen-Democratisch Appèl, ; CDA) is a Christian-democratic political party in the Netherlands. It was originally formed in 1977 from a confederation of the Catholic People's Party, the Anti-Revolutionary Party and the Christian Historical Union; it has participated in all but three cabinets since it became a unitary party.
