Paul Pensini
Paul Pensini (born 14 October 1977) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League. Primarily a , he represented Italy at international level. Playing career An Atherton Roosters junior, Pensini joined the North Queensland Cowboys in 1998. In Round 14 of the 1998 NRL season, he made his NRL debut in the Cowboys' 14–16 loss to the St George Dragons. In Round 26 of the 1999 NRL season, Pensini scored his only NRL try in an 18–28 loss to the North Sydney Bears. The 2001 North Queensland Cowboys season was the 7th in the club's history. Coached by Tim Sheens and captained by Paul Bowman, they competed in the NRL's 2001 Telstra Premiership. Following a mid-season club taker over by News Limited, Sheens resigned as head coach on 25 May and was replaced by his assistant, Murray Hurst. Season summary 2001 was another season that started with high hopes but ended in disaster for the club. It got off to an awful start before a ball was even kicked, when club captain Tim Brasher injured his knee in the pre-season, resulting in a complete reconstruction and ruling him out for the year. Coached by Tim Sheens and captained by new signing Tim Brasher, they competed in the National Rugby League's 2000 Telstra Premiership, finishing in last place. Season summary The Cowboys entered the new millennium with a renewed sense of hope, adding veterans Tim Brasher and Julian O'Neill from the South Sydney Rabbitohs, with Brasher becoming the club's fifth captain. The competition started a month earlier due to the Sydney Olympics being held later that year. Because of this, the side played their first month away from home. Season summary Despite undergoing another roster clean-out in the off-season, the Cowboys endured a rough season. After starting the year with a bye, the club went on a five-game losing streak. One of the few positive periods of their season then followed, with a 24-0 win over the Auckland Warriors followed by a 20-20 draw with the Brisbane Broncos and a 20-14 win over the Balmain Tigers. The France national rugby league team represent France in international rugby league matches. They are referred to as ''les Chanticleers'' or less commonly as ''les Tricolores''. The team is run under the auspices of the Fédération Française de Rugby à XIII. The French rugby league team first played in 1934 on a tour of England. They have taken part in all World Cups, 16 in total, with the first being held in 1954 in France. They have never won the title but finished runners-up in both 1954 and 1968.
