2000 North Queensland Cowboys Season
The 2000 North Queensland Cowboys season was the 6th in the club's history. Coached by Tim Sheens and captained by new signing Tim Brasher, they competed in the National Rugby League's 2000 Telstra Premiership, finishing in last place. Season summary The Cowboys entered the new millennium with a renewed sense of hope, adding veterans Tim Brasher and Julian O'Neill from the South Sydney Rabbitohs, with Brasher becoming the club's fifth captain. The competition started a month earlier due to the Sydney Olympics being held later that year. Because of this, the side played their first month away from home. It was a disastrous away trip, with the club losing their first three games. They managed a win on their final away game against Parramatta but were later stripped of the two competition points after fielding a fourteenth player for three minutes. 2000 NRL Season
The 2000 NRL season was the 93rd season of professional rugby league football in Australia and the third to be run by the National Rugby League. Fourteen teams competed from February till August for the NRL Premiership, culminating in the 2000 NRL Grand final between the Brisbane Broncos and the Sydney Roosters. Season summary The 2000 National Rugby League season started with a new CEO in rugby union's David Moffett who replaced Neil Whittaker in late 1999. The season began in early February to accommodate the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games which were to be held during September and required the use of Stadium Australia, the grand final venue. Paul Green (rugby League)
Paul Gregory Green (12 September 1972 – 11 August 2022) was an Australian professional rugby league football coach, best known for taking the North Queensland Cowboys to the NRL premiership in 2015, and a professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. He played for Cronulla-Sutherland, North Queensland Cowboys, Sydney Roosters, Parramatta Eels and the Brisbane Broncos, winning the Rothmans Medal in 1995. John Buttigieg (born 9 January 1977) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. Des Clark (born 4 March 1972) is an Australian former rugby league footballer. A journeyman or , he played for the North Sydney Bears, Balmain Tigers, Gold Coast Chargers, Halifax Blue Sox, St. Helens and North Queensland Cowboys during his seven-year career. Martin Locke
Martin Locke (born 21 August 1970) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played for the South Queensland Crushers and North Queensland Cowboys in the 1990s and 2000s. He primarily played . Playing career In 1989, after representing the Queensland under-19 team, Locke signed with the Brisbane Broncos. Locke spent four years with the club, playing in the under-21 and reserve grade competitions. In 1995, Locke signed with the newly formed South Queensland Crushers. Jeremy Schloss (born 18 September 1973) is a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Gold Coast Seagulls and North Queensland Cowboys. Graham Appo
Graham Appo (born 11 July 1974) is an Indigenous Australian former professional rugby league footballer of the 1990s and 2000s. He played throughout the back-line during his long career and was also a talented goal-kicker. Appo started playing first-grade club football in the New South Wales Rugby League premiership for the Canberra Raiders in 1994, winning the club's rookie of the year award. Nathan Fien (born 1 August 1979), also known by the nickname of "Fieny", is a former New Zealand international rugby league footballer who played as a and in the 2000s and 2010s. He last played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons in the National Rugby League. Jason Nicol is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. He played for the Penrith Panthers, Gold Coast Chargers, South Sydney Rabbitohs and the North Queensland Cowboys in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition, ARL and NRL competitions. Glenn Morrison
Glenn Adam Morrison (born 28 May 1976), is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer and coach.
