Paul James (basketball)
Paul Julian James (born 11 September 1964) is a former professional basketball player and current head coach of the British Basketball League (BBL) team Plymouth City Patriots. Born in Leicester, England, James' career in basketball started out as a player for his hometown team Leicester All-Stars. He made his league debut on 26 September 1981, just weeks after his 17th birthday, against local rivals Nottingham. He enjoyed seven successful years at the All-Stars (now known as Riders) before moving south to sign for Bracknell Tigers in 1988. After nine years as a player, James was then promoted head coach of the Tigers in 1997, a position he retained until 2005 when the franchise was pulled from the league. However, he was soon offered the coaching position of Guildford Heat, a club established by fans of the former Tigers to take their place in the BBL. The 2021–22 British Basketball League season will be the 35th season of the British Basketball League, the top British professional basketball league, since its establishment in 1987. The season will feature 10 teams from across England and Scotland. Chuck Evans (basketball)
Charles Lee Evans (born December 12, 1971) is a retired American professional basketball player, and former coach of British team Worcester Wolves. Evans was born in Atlanta, Georgia. A 1.80 m tall point guard, he led the 1994–95 Euroleague in assists with 6.2 per game. At the time he was playing for Russian club CSKA Moscow. Later he played in Germany with the Bayer Giants Leverkusen and Alba Berlin. In 2007, he signed for British Basketball League side Worcester Wolves, joining the club at the same time as fellow Americans James Life and Anthony Paez. As starting point guard that year, he recorded two triple doubles, in back-to-back home games, and was widely thought of as the best creative point guard in the BBL and received an honourable mention for Player of the Month in March 2008. Chad McKnight (born June 19, 1983 in Lancaster, Ohio) is an American professional basketball player, who has signed as the Player-Coach for the 2009-10 British Basketball League season with the Guildford Heat. The Forward was educated at Morehead State University, where he starred for the Eagles basketball team from 2003 to 2005. During his first season, McKnight averages 26.7 mins per game, while posting up 10.6 points per game and 5.1 rebounds. His second and final season with the Eagles was a progressive improvement, where he played an average of 31.4 mins per game, knotching up 16.4 points per game and shooting 63% from the floor. McKnight left Morehead in 2005, before signing his first professional contract with Guildford Heat in 2005. BC Šiauliai ( lt, Krepšinio klubas Šiauliai) is the professional basketball club of Šiauliai, Lithuania. The club competes in the Lithuanian Basketball League.
