Robert Paul Elliott (born 24 September 1954) is an Australian politician. He was a Labor member of the Australian House of Representatives from 1990 to 1996, representing the division of Parramatta. Elliott was born in Ballina, New South Wales and earned a Bachelor of Arts and a MLitt at the University of New England. Paul Marcellus Elliott (born 18 March 1964) is an English former footballer who played as a defender. Playing career Starting his career with Charlton Athletic in the early 1980s, Elliott signed for First Division Luton Town in 1983. He then joined Aston Villa in 1985 and spent two years at Italian club Pisa before joining Celtic in 1989. In his final season at Parkhead, Elliott was awarded the Scottish Footballer of the Year award. In the summer of 1991, he signed for Chelsea for £1,400,000. In September 1992, Elliott sustained a serious knee injury, resulting from a challenge by Liverpool's Dean Saunders. He never played again and on 10 May 1994 – just four days before Chelsea lost to Manchester United in their first FA Cup final since 1970 – Elliott announced his retirement after failing to recover from the injury. Paul Elliott (born April 1954) has been professor of epidemiology and public health medicine at Imperial College London since 1995. He is director of REACT (Real-time Assessment of Community Transmission), a community coronavirus testing programme. The Chuckle Brothers were an English comedy double act comprising Barry David Elliott (24 December 1944 – 5 August 2018) and Paul Harman Elliott (born 18 October 1947). They were known for their BBC children's programme ''ChuckleVision'', which aired from 1987 to 2009 and celebrated its twenty-first series with a 2010 stage tour titled ''An Audience with the Chuckle Brothers''. Baseball at the 2004 Summer Olympics was held on two separate diamonds within the Helliniko Olympic Complex, from 15 to 25 August. For the second time in Olympic competition, professional baseball players were eligible to participate, though no active players from Major League Baseball were available. The competition consisted of a preliminary round with each team playing all the other teams once, for a total of seven games. The top four teams at the end of this round advanced to the medals round. The medals round consisted of two semifinal games with the winners advancing to the gold medal game. The losing teams of the semifinals would play in the bronze medal game. Paul Elliott (born 5 December 1960) is an Australia former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s. He played for Illawarra and Canberra in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition. Playing career 1982 In 1982, 21-year-old Elliott made his professional football debut with the Illawarra Steelers in Round 23 against the Canberra Raiders (the team he would later player most of his career for). Illawarra lost that game 19–26, after leading by 2 at the half-time break. The Steelers, at the time, were playing their first ever season, along with the Raiders. Elliott would play for the Steelers for the last 3 rounds of the season, eventually starting his first game as a second-rower in a Round 25 match-up against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.
