Paul Claxton
Paul Claxton (born February 9, 1968) is an American professional golfer. Biography Claxton was born and raised in Vidalia, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia and was a member of the golf team. He majored in Business and graduated in 1992. Claxton turn professional in 1993. He was a member of the PGA Tour in 1997, 2002, 2005 and 2008. He was a member of the Nationwide Tour in 1995-96, 1998–2001, 2003–04, 2006–07 and 2009-10. When he won the 2007 Melwood Prince George's County Open, he surpassed $1,000,000 in earnings on the Nationwide Tour becoming the first player to do so. Claxton has participated in two majors, including the 2005 U.S. Open. He finished tied for 23rd. After Claxton's touring career ended, he became a club professional in Georgia. He qualified for the 2017 PGA Championship through the PGA Professional Championship. Claxton lives in Vidalia, Georgia. Vidalia, Georgia
Vidalia ( ''vye-DAYL-yÉ™'' , ) is a city located primarily in Toombs County, Georgia, United States. The city also extends very slightly into Montgomery County. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 10,473. Vidalia is the principal city of the Vidalia Micropolitan Statistical Area, a micropolitan area that covers Montgomery and Toombs Counties, and had a combined population of 36,346 at the 2010 census. Description and history The town was incorporated on January 1, 1890. It is the largest city in Toombs County, but it is not the county seat. The original name for the town was Jenkins Station after a local landowner, Warren T. Jenkins. Although several origins for the town's modern name have been suggested, it was most likely given by the daughter Samuel Hawkins, the president of the Savannah, Americus and Montgomery Railroad (later the S.A.M shortline), though which of his four daughters suggested the name, or how she came to it, is not known. Jaco Van Zyl
Jaco Phillipus van Zyl (born 23 February 1979) is a professional golfer from South Africa. Career Van Zyl was born in Pretoria. He won the South African Amateur Championship (golf), South African Amateur in 2000 and turned professional the following year, immediately joining the Sunshine Tour. He won for the first time on the tour at the Platinum Classic in 2005. In 2007, van Zyl played on the PGA Tour, having gained his card at the 2006 qualifying school. He made the 36-hole cut only four times in 21 tournaments during his rookie season and finished 227th on the money list. In 2009, van Zyl recorded the biggest win of his career at the Telkom PGA Championship and went on to win twice more during the season and finish in 4th place on the Order of Merit. PGA Cup
The PGA Cup is a men's golf competition for club professionals played between a Great Britain and Ireland team and a United States team. The winning team is presented with the Llandudno Trophy. The competition is run by the British PGA and the PGA of America. It was first played in 1973 and was an annual event until 1984, after which it became biennial. The 2022 event was held at the Foxhills Golf Club in Surrey, England, the second time that the course had been chosen to host the event. Masters Tournament
The Masters Tournament (usually referred to as simply The Masters, or the U.S. Masters outside North America) is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Scheduled for the first full week of April, the Masters is the first major of the year, and unlike the others, it is always held at the same location, Augusta National Golf Club, a private course in the city of Augusta, Georgia, in the southeastern United States. The PGA Championship (often referred to as the US PGA Championship or USPGA outside the United States) is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers' Association of America.
