Paul Carroll (Royal Navy Officer)
Rear admiral (Royal Navy), Rear Admiral Paul Christopher Carroll, (born 1970), is a senior Royal Navy Engineer Officer (Royal Navy), officer who currently serves as Director of Innovation and Future Capability at the UK Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom), Ministry of Defence. Naval career After graduating from Britannia Royal Naval College at Dartmouth, Devon, Dartmouth, Carroll was commissioned in the Royal Navy in 1991. Promoted to Captain (Royal Navy), Captain on 6 October 2014, then Commodore in 2018, he became Rear admiral (Royal Navy), Rear Admiral on 2 August 2021, and Director of Innovation and Future Capability at Defence Equipment and Support, MoD Defence Equipment and Support. Defence Equipment And Support
Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) is a trading entity and joint-defence organisation within the UK Ministry of Defence. It began operating on 2 April 2007, following the merger of the MoD's Defence Procurement Agency and the Defence Logistics Organisation, under the Chief Executive Officer of Defence Equipment and Support. DE&S initially had a civilian and military workforce of around 29,000 (77 per cent civilian and 23 per cent military) in the UK and abroad. Shipwrights' Company
The Worshipful Company of Shipwrights is one of the ancient livery companies of the City of London. Although the Shipwrights' Company is no longer a shipbuilding trade association representing solely London-based industry, through its membership it retains strong links with global trade, and maritime and shipping professions. The company ranks fifty-ninth in the City livery order of precedence and cohabits with the Ironmongers' Company. Its motto is "Within The Ark Safe For Ever". Dartmouth, Devon
Dartmouth () is a town and civil parish in the English county of Devon. It is a tourist destination set on the western bank of the estuary of the River Dart, which is a long narrow tidal ria that runs inland as far as Totnes. It lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and South Hams district, and had a population of 5,512 in 2001, reducing to 5,064 at the 2011 census. Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC), commonly known as Dartmouth, is the naval academy of the United Kingdom and the initial officer training establishment of the Royal Navy. It is located on a hill overlooking the port of Dartmouth, Devon, England. Royal Naval officer training has taken place in Dartmouth since 1863.
