Paul Bradford (American Football)
Paul L. Bradford (born April 20, 1974) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at Portland State. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 1997 NFL draft. Early years Bradford attended Carlmont High School where he was an All-state honorable mention football player. He then attended College of San Mateo and lettered twice in football. He then transferred to Portland State University where he majored in physical education. In two seasons at Portland State, he recorded 80 tackles, four interceptions, and 13 pass deflections. Professional career Bradford was drafted in the fifth round (146th overall) by the San Diego Chargers. As a rookie, he appeared in 15 games with four starts. All four starts came at left cornerback. Draft (sports)
A draft is a process used in some countries (especially in North America) and sports (especially in closed leagues) to allocate certain players to teams. In a draft, teams take turns selecting from a pool of eligible players. When a team selects a player, the team receives exclusive rights to sign that player to a contract, and no other team in the league may sign the player. The process is similar to round-robin item allocation. The best-known type of draft is the entry draft, which is used to allocate players who have recently become eligible to play in a league. Depending on the sport, the players may come from college, high school or junior teams, or teams in other countries. Warren Moon
Harold Warren Moon (born November 18, 1956) is an American former football quarterback who played professionally for 23 seasons. He spent the majority of his career with the Houston Oilers of the National Football League (NFL) and the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). In the NFL, Moon also played for the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Kansas City Chiefs. Moon is considered one of the greatest undrafted players in NFL history. Moon began his professional career with the Eskimos in 1978 after not generating interest from NFL teams. His success during his six CFL seasons, five of which ended in Grey Cup victories, resulted in him being signed by the Oilers for 1984. During his 17 NFL seasons, Moon was named Offensive Player of the Year in 1990 after leading the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns. 1997 Seattle Seahawks Season
The 1997 Seattle Seahawks season was the team's 22nd season with the National Football League (NFL). This season would mark a new era for the Seahawks as they drafted two first round picks (Shawn Springs and Walter Jones) and traded quarterback Rick Mirer and signed Minnesota Vikings/Houston Oilers quarterback Warren Moon to be John Friesz's backup. Moon and Jones would go on to be selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and 2014, respectively. They also signed rookie quarterback Jon Kitna. After a Week 1 injury to Friesz, Moon led the Seahawks improvement from 1996's 7–9 record to finish 8–8. Dwayne Harper (born March 29, 1966) is an American former professional American football, foobtall player who was a cornerback for 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the South Carolina State Bulldogs football, South Carolina State Bulldogs and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the 11th round of the 1988 NFL Draft.
