Patanga (1971 Film)
''Patanga'' () is a 1971 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Kedar Kapoor. The film stars Shashi Kapoor, Vimi and Ajit. The music was composed by ShankarâJaikishan. Plot Shyam was a son of Ramu kaka who works in the palace of Kuwar Amar Singh. Amar Singh considers him as his own brother and gets him a good education. Shyam meets with Renu on a train while going to Dehradun and immediately gets attracted to her. As she finds her purse in his coat, she misunderstands him for a thief. Later, it is known to her that Kuldeep who was a petty thief, has stolen her purse and kept in Shyam's coat. She apologizes to him and they grow close. Meanwhile, it is revealed that Kuldeep was the lost cousin of Renu and they reconcile. Shashi Kapoor
Shashi Kapoor (pronounced ÉÊi kÉpuËÉŸ (born Balbir Raj Kapoor; 18 March 1938 â 4 December 2017) was an Indian actor and film producer who is best known for his work in Hindi films. A recipient of several accolades, including four National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards, he also featured in a number of English-language international films, particularly films produced by Merchant Ivory. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 2011, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, in 2014, for his contribution to Indian cinema. Vimi (1943 â 22 August 1977) was an Indian actress who acted in Indian films such as '' Aabroo'', ''Hamraaz'' and '' Patanga''. She starred with Sunil Dutt in ''Hamraaz'' and became notable. Career Vimi debuted opposite Sunil Dutt in the B. R. Chopra-directed ''Hamraaz'' in 1967. The film was a hit, but did not help her career. She appeared with Shashi Kapoor in '' Patanga'' (1971) and ''Vachan'' (1974). She was the leading lady in '' Aabroo'' (1968), opposite Deepak Kumar. She appeared in the Punjabi film ''Nanak Nam Jahaz Hai'' in 1973. Her last film was ''Krodhi'', released four years after her death in 1977. ShankarâJaikishan
ShankarâJaikishan (also known as S-J), were an Indian composer duo of the Hindi film industry, working together from 1949 to 1971. They are widely considered to be one of the greatest ever music composers of the Hindi film industry. After Jaikishanâs death in 1971, Shankar continued as a music director alone until his own death in 1987. During this solo career, he was still credited as 'ShankarâJaikishan'.
