Pat Murphy (Iowa Politician)
Patrick Joseph Murphy (born August 24, 1959) is an American politician who served as Iowa State Representative from the 99th District and Speaker of the Iowa House of Representatives; Murphy was also the Democratic nominee for Iowa's 1st congressional district in 2014. He also previously served as Minority Leader from 2003 to 2007. Murphy is a Democrat and served in the Iowa House after winning a special election in 1989. He received his BA from Loras College. Pat Murphy served 12 terms in the Iowa House of Representatives. He served on the Appropriations, Labor and Transportation committees. Throughout his term in the House, he had worked on numerous issues related to human services, health care, and appropriations. Jackie J. Reeder (born June 29, 1958) is an American politician in the state of Iowa. A Democrat, she represented the 28th district in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2002 to 2003. Reeder was born in 1958 in northeastern Iowa, one of ten children. She was a real estate agent; she served as a county supervisor and on the school board. Rodney Leland Blum (; born April 26, 1955) is an American businessman and politician who served as the U.S. representative for Iowa's 1st congressional district from 2015 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he was first elected in 2014 and won a second term in the 2016 elections. Blum was defeated for reelection in 2018 by Democrat Abby Finkenauer.
