Pastor Cuquejo
Eustaquio Pastor Cuquejo Verga C.Ss.R. (20 September 1939 – 22 August 2023) was a Paraguayan Roman Catholic prelate who was the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Asunción. Biography Cuquejo was born on San Estanislao on 20 September 1939. He joined the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer in 1957. From 1959 to 1964 he studied theology and philosophy at the Redemptorist priest's seminar in Esopus, New York. There he received his holy orders on 21 June 1964. He then studied pastoral psychology in Annapolis, Maryland. After a short time as a vicar in Paraguay, he became professor and apostolic prefect at the seminar of the Redemptorists in Ponta Grossa, Brazil on 21 July 1968, and from 1973 professor of moral theology at the Theologicum de Curitiba. From 1975 to 1977, he completed a postgraduate degree in Moral Theology at the Academia Alfonsiana in Rome, belonging to the Pontifical Lateran University. Archbishop
In Christian denominations, an archbishop is a bishop of higher rank or office. Rogelio Ricardo Livieres Plano (30 August 1945 – 14 August 2015) was an Argentine prelate of the Catholic Church who was Bishop of Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, from 2004 to 2014. Biography Born in Corrientes, Argentina, on 30 August 1945, Rogelio Ricardo Livieres Plano attended Goethe and San José Colleges in Asunción. He joined Opus Dei as a numerary member in 1964. He then studied in Paraguay, Italy and Spain, earning a law degree at the Catholic University "Nuestra Señora de la Asunción", a theology degree at the International Roman College of the Holy Cross in Rome, a Master's in Administrative Law at the Complutense University of Madrid and a doctorate in canon law at the University of Navarra. A suffragan bishop is a type of bishop in some Christian denominations. In the Anglican Communion, a suffragan bishop is a bishop who is subordinate to a metropolitan bishop or diocesan bishop (bishop ordinary) and so is not normally jurisdictional in their role. Suffragan bishops may be charged by a metropolitan to oversee a suffragan diocese and may be assigned to areas which do not have a cathedral of their own. Andrés Rodríguez (politician)
Andrés Rodríguez Pedotti (June 19, 1924 – April 21, 1997) was a military officer and politician, being President of Paraguay from February 3, 1989, to August 15, 1992. He led the coup d'état on February 2 and 3, 1989, against the dictator Alfredo Stroessner Matiauda. 1989 coup d'état Rodríguez had been Alfredo Stroessner's closest confidant for 35 years.
