''Passage in Time'' is a compilation album by the Canadian melodic death metal band Quo Vadis and was released in 2001 by Skyscraper Music. It contains their entire 1995 Demo, a rerecorded version of Vital Signs, a remixed version of the Hunted, and two live songs recorded at Foufounes Electriques in Montreal and the music video for Dysgenics. Quo Vadis (band)
Quo Vadis was a Canadian melodic death metal band from Montreal, Quebec, formed in 1992 by Bart Frydrychowicz, Yanic Bercier, and Arie Itman, named after the novel by Polish writer Henryk Sienkiewicz. Since its inception, the band released three studio albums, one compilation album, one demo, one live DVD, one live album and two videos. Not to be confused with another technical death metal band from Poland, bearing the same name. Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. ''Day Into Night'' is the second full-length album by the Canadian melodic death metal band Quo Vadis. It was released on March 30, 2000. The album was accompanied by a music video for the song "Dysgenics". Critical reception Greg Platt for ''Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles'' spoke highly of the album, comparing the album's sound to that of ''Kataklysm'' and ''Carcass''. He also praised the production, with the "double-bass drums pounding heavy and proud and vocalist Yanic growling, whispering, speaking and screaming nicely over the whole thing." ''Metal Storm'' also spoke highly of the album and called Quo Vadis "one of the best bands to come from North America in the last years, and an underrated act also."
