Anne Pashley
Anne Pashley (5 June 1935 – 7 October 2016) was a British track and field sprinter, who represented Great Britain at the 1956 Summer Olympics. Following her track and field career, she made a second career as a soprano singer. Pashley was born on 5 June 1935 in Skegness, Lincolnshire, the younger of two daughters of Roy Pashley, an English teacher, and his wife Milly Pashley, who ran a holiday camp. She attended school in Great Yarmouth, where her athletic skills came to attention. In 1953, at the AAA championships in White City, Pashley equalled the British women's 100-yard record of 10.8 seconds. She took the bronze medal at the 1954 European Championships in Berne, Switzerland in the women's individual 100 metres, behind Irina Turova (Soviet Union) and Bertha van Duyne (Netherlands). Cecil Pashley
Cecil Lawrence Pashley (1891–1969) was a British aviation pioneer. Cecil Pashley was born in the Great Yarmouth, Norfolk on 14 May 1891 to parents Alexander and Cecilia (Ryan). He learned to fly in 1908 and, in partnership with his younger brother Eric, established a flight training school at Shoreham Airport in 1913 when they founded the South Coast Flying club. Cecil's two brothers were both killed during the First World War; Herbert was a 2nd lieutenant observation balloon officer and died on Christmas Day in 1916, whilst Eric was a lieutenant flying Airco DH.2s with 24 Squadron Royal Flying Corps and died in an accident on 17 March 1917. One of Pashley's students was F. G. Miles with whom he later founded the Southern Aero Club which remained in business after his death. Pashley trained large numbers of pilots during both world wars. Pashley made his debut for Staffordshire in the 1996 Minor Counties Championship against Cambridgeshire. Pashley played Minor counties cricket for Staffordshire from 1996 to 1998, which included 15 Minor Counties Championship matches and 3 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. Robert Pashley
Robert Pashley (4 September 1805 – 29 May 1859) was a 19th-century English traveller, lawyer and economist. Pashley was born in York and he studied at Trinity College, Cambridge. Distinguished in mathematics and Classics, in 1830 he was elected a Fellow of Trinity at his first sitting. In 1832 he took his MA degree, and as a travelling Fellow undertook a journey in Italy, Greece, Asia Minor and Crete, of which he published his two-volume ''Travels in Crete''. His work is considered a classic of writing on the Ottoman Empire, with his detailed observations on local geography, customs, and social issues. In 1837, he was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple. He lost his valuable library and antiquities in fire at Temple in 1838. He was appointed as a queen's counsel in 1851 He stood for Parliament in the 1852 general election for King's Lynn but was not elected. Terry Pashley
Terence Pashley (born 11 October 1956) is an English former professional footballer. He played for Burnley, Blackpool and Bury in the 1970s and 1980s, making well over 400 Football League appearances for the three clubs. His position was as a defender, specifically a left full-back. He now works as a coach for Burnley, with the club confirming on 16 October 2012 that he has taken on the role of caretaker manager (following the departure of Eddie Howe to Bournemouth). Pashley Cycles is a British bicycle, tricycle and workbike manufacturer based in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, England. The company was started in 1926 and still manufactures bikes in the UK. Formation and early years In 1926, William Rathbone 'Rath' Pashley founded Pashley and Barber in New John Street West, Birmingham. Pashley and Barber declared that they were 'Manufacturers of every type of cycle' and that 'Birmingham produces the finest cycles, these are Birmingham's best'. The model range included everyday roadsters, clubman racing machines, tradesmen's carrier cycles and tandems.
