	Pasayten River The Pasayten River is a tributary of the Similkameen River, in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of British Columbia and the U.S. state of Washington (state), Washington. The Pasayten River is part of the Columbia River drainage basin, being a tributary of the Similkameen River, which flows into the Okanogan River, Okanagan River, which flows into the Columbia River. Course The Pasayten River originates in the North Cascades part of the Cascade Range. It flows generally north through the Pasayten Wilderness and across the international boundary. West Fork The West Fork Pasayten River originates on the north slopes of Slate Peak and flows north until it reaches Three Forks, where it and the Middle Fork converge to form the Pasayten River Proper. It is located in the Similkameen-Okanagan Forest District. The community store and gas station, and formerly the now closed restaurant, are popular for visitors of Manning Park#Manning Park Resort, Manning Park Resort and ski area. The settlement is located along the uppermost Similkameen River. Access to Eastgate is limited solely to east–west travel along the Hope-Princeton Highway. picture info	Slate Peak Slate Peak is a mountain summit located on the shared border between Okanogan County and Whatcom County in Washington state. It is part of the Okanogan Range, which is a sub-range of the North Cascades. The mountain is situated northwest of Mazama, on the boundary line of the Pasayten Wilderness, on land managed by the Okanogan–Wenatchee National Forest. The peak has the distinction of having the highest road in Washington, as well as the highest fire lookout. Although the narrow one-lane white-knuckle road reaches the summit of the mountain, the Forest Service gated it to vehicles, which necessitates walking the final few hundred yards.
