Shahir Sable
Krishnarao Ganpatrao Sable, popularly known as Shahir Sable (3 September 1923 – 20 March 2015), was a Marathi language folk artist from Maharashtra, India. He was an accomplished singer, playwright, performer and folk theatre (Loknatya) producer & director. Early life Shahir Sable was born in a small village called Pasarni, in the Wai taluka of district Satara to Ganpatrao Sable in 1923. He learned to play the flute in childhood. After finishing his primary schooling in Pasarni, he moved to his maternal uncle's place in Amalner, Jalgaon, where he studied till 7th grade and soon left school. At Amalner, he became close to Sane Guruji and spent time with Sane Guruji during the freedom struggle. With his shahiri, he started contributing to the struggle. Baburao Govindrao Shirke
Padma Shri Baburao Govindrao Shirke (1918–2010) was an Indian businessman, and the founder and chairman of BG Shirke Construction Technology Private Limited (BGSCTPL). Early life and education B G Shirke was born on 1 August 1918, at Pasarni village in Wai taluka of Satara district. Shirke hailed from a humble family background and completed his formal education through 'earn and learn' scheme of the government. In 1936, despite lack of money and educational facilities, he passed his matriculation from Dravid High School at Wai. He obtained BE degree in Civil Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Pune, (then affiliated to Mumbai University) and became the first Civil Engineer from the Pasarani area. ''Omkara'' is a 2006 Indian crime drama film adapted from William Shakespeare's ''Othello'', co-written and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. It starred an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vivek Oberoi and Bipasha Basu in lead roles. Wai (Pronunciation: aːi) is a town in Satara district of Maharashtra state in India. Located on the Krishna River, Wai was a prominent town during the Peshwa era. On 15 August 2022, the PIN system celebrated its 50th anniversary.
