''Pasambahan'' dance is a Minangkabau traditional dance that has developed in various regions in the province of West Sumatra, Indonesia. Indang (dance)
''Indang'' also called Dindin badindin is a traditional Minangkabau Islamic dance originating from West Sumatra, Indonesia. Indang dance grows and develops in the Minangkabau community as a portrayal of the arrival of Islam in West Sumatra in the 13th century. historically this dance was the result of acculturation of Minang culture and Islamic culture which spread in the 14th century. It is said that Islamic civilization was introduced by Islamic traders who entered Aceh. Starting from the west coast of Sumatra island to then spread to Ulakan-Pariaman. Candle Dance
The candle dance ( id, Tari Lilin, Jawi: تاري ليلين) is an Indonesian dance performed by a group of dancers to the accompaniment of a group of musicians. The dancers carry lit candles on plates held on the palm of each hand. The dancers dance in groups, rotating the plates carefully so that the plate is always horizontal, and the candles are not extinguished. The dance is said to have originated in Sumatra, Indonesia. History The origin of this dance is inseparable from folklore. In the folklore told in ancient times there was a girl who was left by her fiancé to go trading. One day the girl lost her engagement ring, then she searched for it until late at night by using a candle placed on a plate. Piring Dance
Piring dance (Minangkabau: ''Piriang''; Jawi: تاري ڤيريڠ) is a traditional Minangkabau plate dance originated from West Sumatra, Indonesia and performed both here and Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The dance might be performed by a group of women, men or couples, each of them holds plates in each hands, and vigorously rotate or half rotate them in various formations and fast movements''.'' The dance demonstrates the skill of the dancers that manage balance and to move the ceramics plate swiftly without dropping or breaking the plates. Sometimes candles are lit on the plate, and this variant is called '' tari lilin'' (candle dance).
