The Progressive Democratic Party (Malay: Parti Demokratik Progresif, Abbreviation: PDP), formerly known as Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party is a Sarawak based political party in Malaysia founded in 2002. The party was founded in the wake of the de-registration of the Sarawak National Party in November 2002 by a faction aligned to the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Abdul Taib Mahmud, led by William Mawan Ikom. The party has since rebranded in using a new name - Progressive Democratic Party since 2017 and has planned to expand to certain West Malaysian states e.g. Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Johor (where it has established 6 divisions at the moment). It is one of the former component party of the Barisan Nasional coalition. The Premier of Sarawak is the head of Government of Sarawak, government in the States and federal territories of Malaysia, Malaysian state of Sarawak. Anyi Ngau
Dato Anyi Ngau (born 1959) is a Malaysian politician who has been serving as the Member of the Dewan Rakyat for Baram since 2013. Anyi made his political debut at the 2013 election when he contested for Baram and was elected. He was re-nominated for the same constituency at the 2018 election, despite rumours that a direct candidate from the then ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) would be nominated. He was re-elected, defeating the People's Justice Party (PKR) candidate Roland Engan, who is also his nephew, with a majority of 1,990 votes. Yang Di-Pertuan Agong
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong (, Jawi: ), also known as the Supreme Head of the Federation, the Paramount Ruler or simply as the Agong, and unofficially as the King of Malaysia, is the constitutional monarch and head of state of Malaysia. The office was established in 1957, when the Federation of Malaya (now Malaysia) gained independence from the United Kingdom. The 2021 Sarawak state election, formally the 12th Sarawak general election, took place on 18 December 2021. This election was to elect 82 members of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 3 November 2021. As the previous assembly first sat on 7 June 2016, it was originally set to be dissolved automatically on 7 June 2021. The tenth Sarawak state election was held on Saturday, 16 April 2011 after nomination for candidates on Wednesday, 6 April 2011. The purpose of the election was to elect 71 representatives to the Sarawak State Assembly. The ninth state assembly was dissolved by Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Abang Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng on the advice of Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud on 21 March 2011. The 2018 Malaysian General Election, formally known as the 14th Malaysian General Election (), was held on Wednesday, 9 May 2018, for members of the 14th Parliament of Malaysia.
